well, since i am basically an idiot when it comes to computers, can someone help me find a good laptop to get? my budget is 2000-2200. it is for school, and also for gaming, and recording various videos. i have been looking into alienware (i know its not that good but idk whats better)
He said it's for school. A viable option is to put $500 toward a laptop and the rest toward a desktop. If you want a gaming laptop I would recommend MSI and Asus.
Trust me, you won't want to be carrying around a $2000 laptop to school. The problem is, laptops get stolen all the time, and expensive ones are going to be a prime target. Do what Zikeji said, and get yourself a regular laptop for ~$500 and use the rest to build yourself a gaming desktop for home.
If you have that kind of budget I would also look into the Razer Blade family of laptops. They have the Pro, and the plain blade. Here is the link, assuming you live in the US http://www.razerzone.com/store/gaming-systems
If you want an overpriced underperforming gaming laptop maybe. The only advantage the Razer Blade offers is it's thin. But if you want thin, the MSI GS Series GS60 Ghost is better than the Razer Blade Pro at $500 cheaper. The differences are the Ghost has a 15.6" screen and the Ghost doesn't have that "cool" touchpad with the screens under it(a feature I personally would never use). But there are much better options around the price point.
I remember when i made my laptop. It was 1800$ and it is incredibly powerful for a laptop and i needed a laptop for school so i understand the complications. Here are the best options i found when i bought mine: Asus offers the most cost efficient gaming laptops. You can actually get a decently powerful one for like 1k. MSI is going to be very pricey but it will be powerful and sleek. Sager is what i used and the laptop is quite large but it was about 600$ cheaper than the MSI equivalent and serves me well. Razer is a gamble and i would not recommend them. Alienware is not what it used to be and i would also discourage them.
I already own a desktop, that is good, and I know laptops are stolen a lot (got it covered) and am saying that the Max I can spend is that, not that I will
What size screen do you want? What games do you intend to play? How much do you ideally want to spend? All of these are important questions.
