Why you should be unbanned:

Was playing on the server, finally got my T round. Ended up dying shortly after start from a glitch with the T room door. Said in @chat (admin chat) something along the lines of, killed on my T round by the world... great. Or something to that effect. 5 minutes later I was banned for 28 days for "Ghosting". After some explanation I see how this is considered ghosting. Which is honestly ridiculous but I didn't think of it. I have never even been kicked from a seriousTTT server let alone received a 28 day ban. Thats incredibly heavy handed. I now understand I mistakenly passed info to living players, in this case admins. But even then I was already dead and all I said was I am dead. Its an honest mistake. Hardly 28 day ban worthy.

I think Krys was on at the time as an admin.​

I honestly think I intended to just say that in the regular "dead" chat but either way its my mistake.

Now, the reason it is ghosting is because you're revealing information that wasn't known to the players during the time.

This can cause a lot of changes and change the flow of the game. Revealing any information pertaining to the round while you're dead and the staff members who are alive (since you used admin chat) can also be considered ghosting. This is why you were banned.

Admin chat, Private Messages, and any other method of communication that's used to reveal unknown information can be ghosting. This is why you should never pm anyone who's alive whole you're dead to reduce any chance of ghosting.

Now, Krys will respond as soon as he can so I would be patient for the time being.

The ban was given by @TheTrueCatMan and from your post you mentioned @Krys as well. These staff members will reply to your ban appeal at their earliest convenience.

 

Typical ghosting bans are 1 month long so Truecatman was following proper protocol. Read the most for more information on the length of certain bans. Have a good day.

Yes it was ghosting as you provided players with information they would otherwise have not known, even if they are staff.

No bans don't require staff telling you ahead of time unless protocol requires it, such as mic spamming (gag warn ungag, gag one round ungag, ban).

This should be a local ban meaning you're free to play on our other servers.

 

You mean all the servers that are still down? Who was the admin on at the time then I thought it was you?

 

Hello HiRez. So you said in the admin chat "I died by the world as a T". Immediatly after you said that, I checked to see if your body was IDed which it wasn't so I killed myself and banned you for a standard 4 weeks.

Krys was there during it but he must not of noticed when it happened.

But let's get to the point. As my fellow moderators said to you in the shoutbox, it says in the MOTD, the message that loads whenever you join or when a map changes, what ghosting is and the punishment for it. With you saying you're a regular, there should be no reason that you disregard those rules.

As Krys said, this is only a local ban meaning that you can hop onto any of our other four servers.

For the reasons stated above, I am going to have to DENY your appeal.
