I believe the idea is that if it was in the shop players could abuse it by using them to get out of bounds. It can be done if you have enough discombobs already, having them on the shop gives you an endless supply so long as you have points.
1+ been a few rounds where I was looking for a discombob in the point shop to help me out until I realized you already have other nades so why not. vip+ can spawn with discombobs aswell so I think buying them would be nice
I understand where people are coming from when they say, "No, people will just spam the shit out of it, and it will be really annoying." And yeah, you're right, people probably will spam the shit out of it and it will be annoying. But only for a few days. I imagine this would be a bit like when telefragging was discovered-- everyone thought it was super funny, and people RDM'd like crazy. Don't get me wrong, it was (and still is imo) pretty funny, but it got old. People got over it. I don't use discombobs all the time, but there are those moments when I go, "Gah, if only I had a discombob." I say we give it a chance. If people don't like it and it turns out to be a huge fucking mess, remove it. +1
The naturally found nades of any sort are enough of a pain as jackasses keep throwing them at random, i can't imagine people using them with an actual purpose rather then for shit & giggles and there's enough of "RDM-don't throw disco as inno"'s in chat. I can tell from experience i bought frag's and inc nades from the shop and it saved my ass in an otherwise lost situation. It felt pretty dumb to win over a player that had clear advantage over me just by spamming nades in his general direction. And those are serious and useful grenades, not extremely situational disco's that in 99% cases are used for memes. I doubt shitstorm of these every round will end well. -1
i just do it with propfly most the time no one gives a shit lol. i feel like the discombob unreachable place argument barely works when its 1000000 times harder to do a discombob jump than it is to put prop under prop keep in mind you can buy frag grenades too and i don't think ive seen this abused. some t rounds i just go frag mode and its fun. I think you can only buy 5-6 grenades, not overpowered at all. cant really think of a reason to not have discombobs when you can buy a frag and cause much more damage. theres been many times that i wouldve bought a discombob for a funny kill but had to settle for a frag
i mean really all you gotta do is try it a few times until you get the timing right and if you time it just right with your jump, and if you know how to control your strafe, you can super jump and jump over gaps and heights pretty well so like
