Basically instead of throwing frag grenades you throw incendiary grenades instead, meaning you have to dodge all the fire as well. Supposed Pros: The entire map will be on fire which could look pretty cool; Having to dodge the fires would mean that there's that much less space to dodge/hide, meaning it's harder to delay and camp in most situations, meaning faster rounds; The burst of satisfaction you get from seeing the hit-marker when someone touches your incendiary fire, even if it was only 3 damage, because hey you're actually doing damage! They're not getting away unscathed! Possible Cons: A lot of fire might lag the server? Requires testing. (obs: default incendiary makes 10 sources of fire) While incendiaries do explode in water they don't make fires, their normal explosion range isn't as big, combined with it sinking and moving slow in water it could mean that players in water are too hard to kill. Other things to consider: Incendiary grenades don't make noise like frags do, so might be more frustrating to dodge than intended. could modify them to make noise if so? Normal incendiary fire lasts 20 seconds with a random variation of between -2 and +2 seconds per grenade, for a proposed funround with as many incendiaries as frag storm and each grenade producing 10 fires that sounds like too long. Having the fires last too long would also allow for people to use it to deny areas pretty much permanently which doesn't sound fun. could modify the fires to only last 2~3 seconds? could keep the randomness by making it last from 1 to 2 or 3 seconds, but since the current randomness is per grenade it sounds more fun to keep all the fires from the same throw lasting the same amount of time.
This sounds like it could be very fun as a variation of the game as well if it's put in rotation with the current frag storm. +1 Let there be fire.
+1 this sounds like it would be very fun and just overall chaotic, however a few optimizations would need to be made for less lag
runs the risk of going too long, as kills usually aren't instant with the explosion, plus incend fire makes it more likely for people to stay in one place instead of move around and try and find people that way cool idea, but it would make what is already an impossibly long funround somehow even longer, so nty -1
just adding to my +1, icend rounds should only be playable on smaller or close range maps, this reduces the delay by a margin, maps that have high ground you can abuse, such as b5, should not be playable.
Might be fun sure but thinking from highwons perspective it would probably be a no You are correct too much fire would be too taxing , and the modifications that would need to be done to the fun round would consume more time than it's worth and even with heavy modifications as previously mentioned there would be way too much fire for the server
