make new members be required to be on the forums for a certain amount of time or certain amount of posts before applying. k cool gn edit to give more clarification as to why: so they can have an understanding of how the forums work and so they can have a presence in the community. some staff just staff and do not engage with the community so this can be good to help them connect better
Requiring a mic should also be a mandatory requirement. Moderating is no place for the socially awkward and the rejects of society there I said it.
We do already look for, and ask of, activity in forums and discord. That's different to your suggestion though since activity doesn't always mean proficiency with forums. The only issue I have is that unlike in-game, forum interaction is hard to quantify fairly, sometimes there's just no conversations that interest you and you don't think making a new thread will be worthwhile.
I agree with that completely and that will be the reason this does not get implemented but I think there should be some way for forum activity to be better encouraged because yes you can say that to an applicant but what about after they get moderator? As of now, there are a few staff members that I haven't seen interact with the community on the forums or on Discord. I personally feel that staff should try to uphold a standard of maintaining their own presence in some form on the forums and on Discord. Some may not feel the same but that is how I can see the community become better and closer.
I actually just talked to the Admins the other day about better forum activity. I'd like to see every staff member make a post at least once a day.
Probably should be more like "U don't have to post in the forums just be at least active and rating threads. And be active in the discord socializing with the playerbase and such and such"
My brain may be going in slowmode but iirc it was one message/post in either the forums or the sb also sorry Jabba idk if that's leaking or not
