The person who would want that torch would already have asked highwon by now so he can make the server ready for a take-over.
Please don't crack highwon down for shutting it down after he already did so much for this community. All the hours he already put into it and still so many to come before the server will be shut down.
I can see how people and reactions like this only make the shutdown faster and less fun for the amount of fun we still have left here.

Yo let's be honest here, I didn't donate for updates. Donated cause I enjoyed the server as is, updates were just a regular thing and probably would continue donations regardless of rollback or slower update releases

Interesting. This kinda goes against the whole "all the toxic banned people are back" thing that people have been saying.

Am I the weird one here but does this seem really out of touch? I mean, I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I highly doubt that the people who donated to this server did it because they expect future updates. The community would be stale without events? Where does that even come from? TTT is a cool gamemode because it presents you with new situations every round, you can find new ways to deceive or deduce, and you can socialize on the servers. I think that the events were kinda cool and all, but they were just gimmicks. They were the cherry on top. And trust me, people still buy cakes without cherries on top. Those cakes are not stale at all.

Have you asked the players? You don't necessarily have to make that decision yourself. Same thing applies to the previous quote: Are you just guessing what people want (like me right now) or is there an actual basis to all of this?

 

Most of the main people at the other place are good friends with the 1.11 group, dont ask me why cause I dont know.

As for the servers, it will take a lot of unfucking for the servers to run properly and a bit of time, it's really up to highwon if he has the time to do it unless someone here is willing and understand coding to do it and can offer that to him.

How easy is doing a rollback though? do we have any saved states from back then? just the content? does it involve any changes to the moderator tools?

 

The way he's talking about it, the issue of rolling back isn't even a technical one, but "people would not like it if content was removed".

 

I doubt that's just Opalium's fault @Highwon, and to be honest doing a gradual rollback of content would be better to pinpoint the issues being caused. It seems like you're trying to pass off the blame.

 

We didn't donate for free content, we donated because we like the server. And the fact I want a permanent loadout and grenades.

 

Opal joins SGM and rises through the ranks extremely quickly. Extremely outgoing and sociable person who interacts with a large amount of people. He gets lead. Drama happens, but he is publicly sympathetic to them, while also not supporting their actions. ( Officially neutral, but friendly to both sides. ). He becomes a dev, responsible for essentially all the content we've seen added. He finally gets owner, and that's when the crashes, a result of his own content update, start to happen. Instead of just reverting the update, Opalium changes small things but never truly attempts a somewhat obvious solution: undoing the December update. There's no doubt Opal is smart, so why did this never happen? Flash forward nearly a year, Opal resigns. He's been planning his own community for awhile. Now with SGM shutting down, the refugees will have a server to flock to. His own server will get a jumpstart, plus he'll have removed the competition entirely by sabotaging them from the inside. Wake up sheeple. The truth has been in front of you this whole time.
