A few games I enjoyed was Raft, SCP: Secret Laboratory, Dead By Daylight, Stick Fight, and Witch it. SCP is free, while the other 4 cost money. I recommend getting these games because I've actually put in some hours into them and really liked them. I'm suprised you don't even have Terraria, that's a must aswell. oh yeah, edit: closest thing to skyrim on my list is prolly raft or terraria, most of these are casual games to help kill your boredom.
Yeah Raft is fun, Stick fight is fun, and Teraria.. Eh, haven't played it in probably a good 3 years. Only problem with games like Raft, is once I get to a certain point I will get bored of it, I like objective. Kinda like how once you defeat bosses in Ark, the whole game becomes basically useless.
Team Fortress 2 is a really fun game to put as much time in as you did with gmod. Easy to pick up and very hard to master. Not so much with a story but the game really is a blast when you start playing.
Yakuza 0 is out on Steam now. Probably the best one in the series. Would definitely recommend playing it if you like the look of it.
Oh, you also have to get Factorio. There's no story, but you WILL lose years of your life playing it.
I recently completed dishonored and prey. Had a damn good time. Also if you're more into fantasy theres a game called Kindgoms of amalur: reckoning on steam. It's pretty damn good. I had it for the 360 when it came out in 2012 but it got stolen so I'm going through it now, and its held up pretty well (in my opinion, but I'm also not very critical of some things) I could give you a whole list of good games but those are off the top of my head
Subnautica got eh. Watch Dogs 2 was a fun game though, disliked that it didn't really have a story.. The first one had an actual solid back story, he wanted to avenge his daughter. This one was just some dude that didn't like a system
https://store.steampowered.com/app/367520/Hollow_Knight/ My first playthrough took me over 40 hours and I enjoyed every second. I highly recommend this game, it's fun, challenging and it has an awesome soundtrack
