Serious DarkRP

We should make a dark rp server.

Why??? Because it’s a very fun experience and it’s a pretty fun server to run and do.

What would SGM do with dark rp?
I don’t know but it would be amazing.

Having dark rp servers make sgm have more to give than just ttt. More flavour to our already amazing community.

Don't we have a Deathrun server? Oh wait, that closed down ages ago, mb.
I love DarkRP but ngl I gotta say no on this. Improve the god damn TTT servers before we make completely new gamemodes.

 

just turn all the deathrun staff into darkrp staff and expand the slots there you go boom

 

If there was anything I'd dumb twice, it's this. TTT servers are already unstable, so we're gonna have to put money into improving them, now I'm not a finance guy and I definitely don't know how much money SGM has, but that already takes quite a lot of money out of our budget.

DarkRP will need more than three staff.

As I said before about money, this'll cost a lot.

Maybe we should focus on both populating and keeping stable the TTT servers first.

 

Also this thread was a thing about the Dark RP possibilities.

DarkRP has been talked about a lot in the past. Back in 2015 and 2016, I played a TON of DarkRP and was even staff for a couple of communities, and there is a lot more to do when it comes to these things, otherwise it dies out super quickly.

A popular community in the past that I will not name for advertising reasons, started off as a TTT server, then they started a DarkRP server that gained a ton of popularity, and what started happening was that all of the TTT "regulars" started hopping on DarkRP more then TTT, and soon enough, TTT died off completely and the community solely went into DarkRP only, and that is where their mistake happened. DarkRP causes more script errors and crashes then a TTT server if most of the coding doesn't go as planned.

I'm not saying that this exact experience will happen again, but we can't rule out the possibility that a DarkRP server can cause a bit of issues.

Will a DarkRP server be hella fun to play on? Of course, it would be a great type of gamemode for everyone in the community, but only if pursued correctly and carefully.

 

This is an idea for the developers and the owner. Not an actual thing gonna happen. Pls just post things like it would be fun. Or we don’t have enough players or etc. Not a debate. Place your opinion and stop. Geez

If its possible to build darkrp its going to be done regardless of community feedback. With the expectation that it'd attract a whole new playerbase, not work off the existing one. IDK why you guys think this is still up for debate lol, it was already in development before and it's in development again now.

And we assume it's up for debate because we'd think the administration listens to it's players but I guess that's too outlandish

 

Out with the old and in with the new I guess is the new sgm motto.
