So, after reading through the motd, I decide to greet all the players on the server by saying "Whats gucci my niggas?" (Its a line from a song) I saw nothing in the motd saying racial slurs are not allowed, and the way i used the slur was not in a negative way, FOR EXAMPLE "You're a nigger!" Out of no where I get SLAIN AND MUTED. I admin chat, furious that this happened with no warning or anything. One player made a report about how i said the n word obviously to spite me for saying it, and i said in my reply to stop being a baby. Admin says i was harassing him. (Even though IMO he was trying to harass me with that report.) I just think there was a better way of handling this, a simple "Hey cm112, please dont say any racial slurs on this server, we do not tolerate them" everything would be fine.

next time, just don't say or type anything that would be taken as offensive to race or religion

 

Basically what mleynek19 has stated. I also want to state that I apologized for the slay, as you were reported in the RDM manager. Your response was calling the other player a "little baby." Which is what I actually muted you for. Harassment, even in reports, is still harassment, as it is directed at a person. Then, when I noticed why you were reported, I went ahead and followed the rest of the protocol for harassment and muted you one round.

All you had to do in your response to the report, instead of harassing the player that reported you, was say, sorry, I didn't know that was harassment, and it would have been fine.

 

still gonna fight this, the person didnt report me for harassment, he reported me for saying the n word, on a server where, by reading the motd, I was led to beleive was fine, and that it wasnt even said in a offensive way, thus I was led to believe that he was trying to get me in trouble for something i couldnt even get in trouble for, so i called him a BABY.

 

Racial slurs are considered harassment; especially since you actually directed them at the entire server. The Server Rules clearly state that harassment is not allowed. You might want to look up the definition of harassment and consider your judgement.

Or, a racial slur that is derogatory for black person. You have to consider the way other players may perceive it.

Here on this server, we go by this definition of harassment:

harass [huh-ras, har-uhs] verb
1. to disturb persistently; torment, as with troubles or cares; bother continually; pester; persecute.
2. to trouble by repeated attacks, incursions, etc., as in war or hostilities; harry; raid.

Here MangoTango is punishing you for harassment, which is the act of harassing.

Racial slurs, even if you may have INTENDED for them to be directed towards the server in a friendly way, are still racial slurs and people take offense to them. Why not just use the other words you described instead?

 

None of this even matters the whole point of this is that i didnt even get warned for this just immediatley slain and gagged.

 

Like I said, it was my mistake for the slay, because you were reported in an RDM report; I made a note on your adminstats to void a slay. The first offense receives a mute, warn, unmute, and the second offense receives a mute for one round. Because you decided to call him a little baby, and continued the harassment, I muted you for a round. I even explained it to you via PM and you continued to spam adminchat with all CAPS after I asked you to stop. I could have decided to then ban you for 24 hours, but I wanted you to understand why you were muted.
