Don't you guy's think a 4 week ban for ghosting is harsh.
well in my thought i alway's think it's harsh.

Here is 2 of my suggestion

Lower the Ban duration for ghosting to

    3 day for 1st offence
6 day ban for 2nd offence
12 day ban for 3rd offence
1 month ban for 4th offence
2 month ban for 5th offence
anymore other then that. will be perma no exception

Or you can take in my 2nd suggestion

    Ghosting with Intention/ not accidental
1 week ban for 1st offence
2 week ban for 2nd offence
a month ban for 3rd offence
2 month ban for 4th offence
anymore other then that will be perma with no exception

    Ghosting without intention/ accidental
1 day ban for 1st offence
2 day ban for 2nd offence
3 day ban for 3rd offence
anymore other then that will be regarding as ghosting with intention

Now what is intentional and what is not intentional

    Intentional
Ghosting using 3rd party softwares like steam/skype/teamspeak

    Not intentional

Please leave your answer and thought about this below. thanks guys.

And if you guy's know what is intentional and what is not intentional and wish to add on please let me know so i can put more up.

Please note. i believe most people who was banned was not intentional (like me). and furthermore ghosting for 4wk is really harsh IMO)

A lot of other servers actually permanently ban right off the bat for ghosting.

I think the current protocol for ghosting is perfectly fine. The thing is that ghosting ruins the round for someone who normally is just trying to play the game. Mistakes happen, but it's fairly difficult to ghost without doing it intentionally. Not only that, but a lot of the time, the person who receives a pm for ghosting often doesn't want it either. The fun of the game is to figure out who the traitors are yourself, outside information voids that fun. The current time of 4 weeks for the first offense, and 8 weeks for the second, seems fine to me. It gives the player a good amount of time to learn from their mistakes. A 3 day ban is far too short, and would make ghosting look like something small, which it isn't.

  5. Ghosting is the most serious offence in the game other than hacking.
Why on earth would be put a shorter ban than we have for 4 RDMs?
If your ghosting is accidental, just appeal it, the mod experiencing it will probably be understanding and knowing by the type of ghosting that it was accidental.
Most cases you can appeal it down to a week or a 5 day ban if you really did it on accident.

and the reason i denied your appeal Neverending, is that i warned you VIA our PM system that "don't do that it could be considered ghosting" and you proceeded to message @ Killamarshall prop pushed me off.

We have actually stated in the Server Rules that using admin chat to give away information regarding yourself is considered ghosting.

This is a situation of why it is important to read the rules before playing on the server. Not every server follows the same rules. A lot of players, including myself, stay at STTT because of our rules.

I think the current protocol is fine. I also would like to state my opinion that someone who is unintentionally ghosting should not be banned right away as it may be an accident or 1 time thing. If accidental they should get a warning or a kick rather than an instant ban. Now when i say this i dont mean people saying who the ts are but things like how many players are left or who is left because i could see them doing this and not knowing its against the rules.( im not sure if this server only considers ghosting as pointing out the ts and if so this post does not apply)

It'd be somewhat difficult to tell if it actually was an "accident". It's simple for someone to lie, and whether it was an accident or not, it's still ghosting. The same way RDM'ing without knowing is still considered RDM and punished just as any other case, ghosting should be treated the same. The outlines and definition of ghosting are clearly stated on the motd, and if someone can't be bothered to actually read through the rules before joining, they should be ready to face any consequences for not following them.

Well from previous experiences i can say there are times when you can tell somebody is not trying to ghost. For example getting a pm that the last t is afk. Im not going to try and defend my opinion because i think you are right and worst case the just appeal the ban. Im not sure how the protocol works here im just going off my own experiences from staffing on other servers.

Considering Ghosting is only a local ban for first offense (depending on the severity); I don't think it should be lowered. We do let some cases go as well, but if you're blatantly Ghosting, and it's your first offense, and we only issue a 3 day ban, how would that be fair to anyone?

Our system may not be perfect, but it is currently the best as of now.

I never said anything was unfair and i wasnt refering to intentional/blatent ghosting. I actually supported keeping the protocol the same. Im just putting a few of my ideas out there, however i was not asking for any changes. Im talking about questional offenses. And like i said im not defending my original opinion because i understand what you guys are saying about how nomatter the way you see it its still ghosting and i think that is true as well.

I'm thinking something like, 5 days - 2 weeks depending on the severity(blatant ghosting or accidental) local for first time, and 8 weeks for 2nd offense.

I agree to an extent if you're trying to report someone that is rdming or so you thought, and you accidentally ghosted while doing so.
