Which would you rather play: A map that is very pretty, but lacks any traitor traps or detective rooms etc. A map that is a bit simple looking (think chaser) but has unique aspects no other ttt map has including multiple traitor items, inno countermeasures, etc.
I'd rather play a map that is creative, like a Chaser or a 67th way, ones that allow both styles of gameplay but have only certain areas for one. Maps that are too pretty to me are fun to play, but only for like a round or two. Not much longer after that it gets boring in all honesty. Like I know we love the maps but seriously I think everyone gets tired of playing Dolls and Teen Room and Assault! Regardless to say, creativity over beauty!
Imo there's a map which does a pretty good job at combining both aspects and that would be Amsterdam, it's a really pretty map which is interactive and nice
By creativity for 67th I mean the fact that there are multiple levels for it. Has multiple T traps and doors and still promotes both the close range and long range style of gameplay!
I personally would take a more clever map. Though I do agree, it does get boring playing the same rotation of maps all the time. Though perhaps a mix of both one day 67th -> Dolls -> Teenroom -> Assualt -> Etc.
I like playability but I want to make this insanely pretty Minecraft map, the problem is balancing the gameplay around that
I feel generally I prefer aesthetic maps like forest and rooftops because most ''interactive maps'' have broken overpowered T rooms (Let you traverse across the entire map endlessly while also putting Decoys and Deathstations in them) and Traitor traps everywhere that are just ''air explodes cuz why not''.
I'd prefer the map rotation to not be 5 maps so people can actually comment on what makes a map good rather than just RTV everything that isn't 67th, Assault, Motel and Dolls.
I prefer a map that offers many opportunities for mobility and positioning such as ramps and teleporters, but I also like maps that are well lit and varied in terms of its layout. Of course, you got to have a balance of both to please the majority, for map interaction and aesthetics can complement each other.
Good question, i like a bit of a mix? like i feel 67th or LTR are good for their T traps, but my favorite map is dolls for its level design and it feels like a really big map when in essence its accutally quite small
I prefer maps with things like Traitor traps and such that provide traitors with more ways to kill people than hit and run tactics. It is fun to bait people into T traps and find other creative ways to kill them other than trying to outshoot everyone.
