Rejected Points for reporting players

Basically a small lottery system, where you have to pay 50 points to report people. If your report is valid, you get for example 50 points. But, if you report a player and the report is invalid, you lose 50 points + the player that you reported gets those 50 points. This would only involve reports that are made against you. (You can't report other people for rdming others to get the points)
If people don't want to participate in this, then there could be a box to check off to not do any points.
I feel this would decrease the amount of invalid reports for butthurt children that don't know the rules, while rewarding the players that do.

 

Most players that report usually report because they often believe that they were RDMed. If they were actually RDMed, but don't have any points to make a report, then that would be pretty unfair. The system is made to accommodate all players in giving their own point of view when it comes to reports. If they suddenly have to pay points for that, then we're basically excluding new players from making reports for a bit.

I disagree with this suggestion and cannot support it.

 

Honestly the people that are "butthurt children that don't know the rules" aren't going to care much about points.

That and you'd punish people that carefully report, as in that report and are sure they're right/want to verify that they got RDM'd or not.

It's a fairly eccentric idea, but just as the two posts above mine have stated, points aren't really what matters. What matters is people getting their reports handled appropriately and being explained why something is or isn't RDM.

Making reports cost points could discourage players from reporting; making the staff's job even more difficult.

I find this pointless because you are basically punishing people for making an invalid report and most of the time a invalid report helps a person learn from his mistake and this system makes them feel bad
