All right, Almost everybody on the server knows that the economy is horribly broken. However, I have two (2) ideas that can make the economy slightly less broken. ChestShops The first idea I have for the server is the plugin ChestShop. ChestShop allows players with a specific permission to place special signs on chests to create an automated shop similar to a vending machine. The ability to buy and sell to Chest Shops would be given to every player. However, in order to create a shop, you would need a "Shopkeeping Licence" (chestshop creation permission node), which would be purchasable in the market for $10,000-$25,000. This would extend the amount of passive income players can have, as you can set up a shop in major settlements such as the center of the map (0/0) and reap the benefits. Grief Prevention Flags The authour of GriefPrevention, BigScary has a paid addon for Grief Prevention. It is called Grief Prevention Flags. GPF allows admins, or players with a specific permission node to add or remove flags to change the way a specific claim works, looks or what you can do inside it. For example, in the future, there could be a thread on the forums where you could request PvP be disabled in your claim. If you abused this feature, PvP would be reenabled in your claims and your privilege to apply for claim flags would be denied. Player Warps In a similar way to how you would request a grief prevention flag for your claim(s), you could also request an admin or special role to create a warp for you, your shop, or your claim. This would be publicly accessible to all players and would cost a large sum of money such as $100,000.
When we get major settlements, I'd love to see the first one, until then I still support it but don't see as much use. The third one I also would like to see.
These all would blend well together. On the topic of large settlements, special claim restrictions would be helpful (such as no PVP) and then a player / group could pool cash to setup a player warp to their "town" and could rent / sell (depending on how powerful the claim system is) out subclaims to other players to either build a house or build a market stall, shop, etc.
+1 These three mod combos have been used on minecraft servers for years. Lately servers have started using other mods that I do not like. I joined this server because it is the only one I could find that is similar to what I used to play. That being said. I think these have to be added. the best part about the economy mod is having shops. These three mods plus all the mods the server currently has. It is a perfect match. But the "Shopkeeping Licence" and the $100,000 for a warp. is unnecessary. Maybe 5,000-$10,000 for a warp only. $100,000 is crazy. That would be reserving the fun of shops to the higher ups. People would join the server and leave when the find out they can't do shops without already being rich.
If I could do more then +1 to this, I would. I would love the third most of all, for I am building a large city, with areas for people to live in, safe and secure. The second would be useful to perhaps create an arena within the claim so people can resolve issues with swords and fists without disrupting other city activities.
This would be perfect. Please implement! But I agree with Mango a few comments up, 100,000 would just end up being a deterrent.
Chest shops are amazing, also adds impenetratable defenses to chest. just make it "1, 1, 999999" and nobody will open that chest ever again Flags and warps are good ideas.
