Decrease the world map`

As it stands, the world map is -15k<x<15k, which is huge. I believe reducing the map by 3/4 or 1/2 would be optimal, as it allows for players to acutally find each other in the wild.

 

I've found plenty of bases and even reached the edge of the world as it is now, I think it's more about if people want to venture out of their comfort zone of being reasonably close to home. Plus you can always just rtp and adventure around which also leads to finding more bases and therefore more people.

I don't think a downsize is needed. Would be kind of upsetting to have it downsized.

You shouldn't have to rely on /rtp or venturing for hours. A 30k block map for a ~20 player server is ridiculous.

 

And here I am waiting for an increase so I can find some more woodland mansions.

Also, the world will never be decreased in size. It's already committed to the size it is now, there are plenty of players with bases near the edge of the world (myself included, I know a couple others as well).

Do you guys have any game sense at all? A 30k block map is fucking HUGE for a 20 player server. I don't think you realize how big 30k blocks up, down, left, and right are.

Finding others bases are just fine right now, and as we are still on the same PvP system the largeness is some of the only solice the non-PvP players have.

 

We understand, it is only a 900 million block world divy that up evenly to about 50-60 players, each player gets 15 million blocks of exploration. Considering how easy players are finding people, 15 million blocks of exploration actually isn't enough.

Well, considering my base is right near the edge of the world border at current, I'm going to be opposing this.

This would removed existing bases from the game, inhibit future players further than they already are, make resources much harder to obtain, limit everyones options, and basically make the game less than it is in nearly every regard. I can't think of a single upside to this.

I don't even think Bogdanoff has a minecraft account :/

 

Its not that bad. It'd take a little under an hour and a half to walk across the map.

It'd take a little over 400 hours to walk back and forth every 100 blocks wide across the 30k map! That's nearly 17 days of straight running in minecraft! Amazing huh!

 

Why?

 

I've explored a large part of the 30k blocks of the map. I have found many many bases and found many many other things. I don't think a change is needed.

Also where's your MC account? How can you state what you're suggesting with such certainty?

 

While I agree that the map size may be a bit massive, it has already been set and many people have made their bases near the borders. Decreasing the size would mean those players would lose their bases and may end up quitting the server. (My base is like 500 blocks off the border, pls no).

You know, I made this exact same post like 2 days after the server opened.

After putting a lot more playtime into the server and getting access to elytras, I'd like to state that the map should definitely not be shrunk. Right now it's set up nicely so that if you'd like to see people a lot, there are some nice hubs you can build near. If you wanna lone wolf it, you can build near the edge of the map and stay away from the action.

I believe this suggestion has been downvoted into the ground and people have been verbal enough to lock this thread as there's nothing more to contribute to the support or disagreement of this suggestion so let's put our resources elsewhere especially with the potential this has of going overboard as it has been shown in a few comments above.
