Here's the situation, and I would very much like this to be dealt with calmly. I have a slay issued on me for killing someone that was traitor baiting (shooting around me multiple times). When he did this first I checked in chat to make sure that traitor baiting was killable and a mod answered me yes, so I killed him. When I did he reported me for rdm and the mod that originally dealt with the report didn't issue a slay on me. Shortly after another mod issued a slay on me saying that he could only see who shot first, which was only me if you could who's shot hit since he was again only traitor baiting and shooting Around me. Since there isn't any logs of the person hitting me I have a slay issued on me and I believe my killing him was justified. Do I deserve this slay?

Are you sure it wasn't for a different report? As it stands, it's hard to tell without logs or video if the slay is justified or not.

    Hey there, @HalfHop

Moderators have tools to see not only who shot and damaged first, but have access to an extensive list of timestamped shot logs, and a death scene which will show not only the shots fired, but where they're aimed in relation to a person. So, the staff member who issued you a slay likely used these tools, along with the report and your response, to issue you a slay. The previous staff member who handled it might have had to hop off before being able to thoroughly investigate the report.

That's basically the only response I can give you given the fact I don't have access to any of the reports/situation at hand. If you feel like you've been slain wrongly, I'd encourage you to file a forum report so you can get that worked out. If the staff member did make a mistake, it's important for them to know so they can correct that and avoid making that mistake in the future. If they were correct in issuing the slay, though, that report will be a good way for them to explain to you why exactly you were slain given their reasoning and the evidence, so you can avoid being slain for situations like that in the future.

Hope that helps! Let me or another staff member know if you have any other questions, or need help filing a report.

It is for the exact reason I put. I simply don't believe I deserve the slay and if not I would like for that to be clarified. If it is I would as well just like to know for sure.
Also in response to Lone, I do know that the person used those tools you were talking about but I still know for a fact that the person shot near enough for me to see the bullet hole beside my head. The mod explained their reasoning once and told me that was their final say and refuses to speak about it any further.

Hello. Since you are referring to the situation with both @Orion and I, I will gladly give you all the evidence you need to realize that we in fact did not false slay you.

You asked in chat as stated if shooting near someone was killable, and the trial moderator responded to your question correctly, seen here:

Here is the report against you in which I slayed you:

The reason that Orion dealt with your report first was because he is training, so he handles the reports, and gives me a verdict and then the moderator or admin online looks over the report and decides to slay or not. He was "handling" the report, but I was issuing the slays and bans. So nothing was done by Orion that I did not already know about or approve.

Below the report, you can see the damage was clear that you were indeed shooting him and doing his damage first and foremost.
Here you see in the damage info, there were also no other shots besides yours:

Here is the death scene, which shows (color coded), you were the one shooting, then he shot back:

Also here is our conversation about the matter:

When I said that it was my final say, that's because you kept arguing about it, and it was going no where because based off my evidence in all my tools, you were the one shooting first and were going to serve the slay. I'm sorry if this came off as rude or dismissive.

Since this is directly concerning me, I am going to tag my admin @Sith Master to make sure things are all squared away. I hope this answers your questions @HalfHop

Everything looks very well illustrated here. @HalfHop, I hope my moderator was able to adequately explain the reasoning behind your slay. Have a good night.

Edit: Now in the event that a player tbaited you earlier in the round, which you later kill them for, more investigation would be needed. The shots logs would be used to determine if that player ever fired a shot in the round. If that were the case, the report would be marked word vs word and no slay would be issued.
If that was the case in this situation, you must fully explain the aforementioned scenario in the RDM manager response. Moderators are required to issue a verdict due to the contents of the response, not additional information given after.
