I'm interested in putting some of my rusty Hammer skills back to use to make a TTT map. The bar seems quite low with the current rotation and it's more about design than looks anyways, so I stand a good shot at pulling it off. I've noticed the following common occurrences between the most popular maps: Open level design. Small, claustrophobic rooms and passages (particularly where there are guns). Brightly lit. T tester.* * The T tester in Serious TTT servers usually goes neglected, especially the complicated one in the Minecraft. It seems that it's more about having something for Innocents to do while waiting to die. Any thoughts?
A decent amount of ammo will make most maps good enough. A map with no tester, or a breakable one at least. Very little amount of T room entrances. T-Traps are always a game ruiner in my opinion, so little or none of them. A medium sized indoor map, where you have the ability to get across the map with ease.
maybe a map with vehicles could be fun if we didn't have to suffer the consequences of radiation and a stupid amount of explosive barrels near a small singular narrow passageway of an entrance
I enjoy a challenge as a T. Soms maps are way to easy to win or impossible to win. It needs to be balanced between the two. And looking at our map list right now. Id say an indoor map, something kinda like asylum. Maybe a hospital map, lots of rooms, plenty of T traps, plenty of guns.
I shall point you to my response to this thead: http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/what-is-in-your-ideal-map.19571/#post-165359 My feelings have largely not changed on the matter in 19 months.
I think that's because of everything I listed in OP. The cars are also super fun. What is inspiring me to make a map is how I hate playing Innocent in almost every map, but you're Innocent most of the time. It's just really a shame.
Maps like terrorception. Not maps like Dolls or Teenroom. Or Terrortrain, god that map is such a clusterfuck.
Loads of ammo, Moving props that cannot be stopped by players, (cars on 67th way without the use of props stopping them.) A large main room with the ammo and a reasonable amount of guns in it T room in secluded parts of maps, forcing ts to travel there with innos and be under extreme caution and be very sneaky to not get spotted entering, a jump-scare t trap, (mutes/lowers mic so no mic spam) A t tester with minimal uses, like 5 or something before it has a 50/50 chance to kill/give the wrong verdict or give the right verdict. Lots of passages to all side rooms. And ofc done tribute to the map creator (And me if they are cool)
