Hello, You guys need an better anti cheat. You guys have so many players and you guys dont deserve hackers on the servers. If you need any more info about this, dont be afraid to message me or add me on steam.
It's been suggested before multiple times in the past. An anti-cheat may stop some hackers it unfortunately also causes issues with server addons as well. Anti-cheats these days are too easily bypassed and it takes almost no effort to get around them. While it would solve a few problems here and there it will just end up creating more in the long run. The staff and players here are more than capable to deal with these cheaters on their own.
Actually a huge reason is because they ban non hackers all the time. On a server as serious as this one, we can't afford to automatically ban people who did nothing wrong
There are some ways in tracking hackers that admins could use/mods. Its called Screengrabbing, I dont know if they have it or not but what it does it takes a screenshot of your client no matter what it is, If the client has cheats on it either covers it up with a black screen thats known as the screenhider which hides a player's profile. This could be used as an apart of a investigation on players.
This can help in someways but it also can grab steam chats which is kind of.. yea not really a good idea. It works great on hackers that have ENB hacks but not so well with aim-assist hacks
The problem with the Screengrabbing idea is that it's already been suggested before and has been deemed an invasion of privacy from what I remember atleast..
There was a screengrabbing thing suggested before, I believe. The suggestion didn't end well as far as I remember. While I would be in favor of an anti-cheat, there's next to no point at this point within the community. Earlier on if we had one, it may have been somewhat beneficial though.
Something that I would like to see is an anti cheat that doesn't ban people. Instead it notifies staff of players it suspects are hacking. A staff member can then investigate to see if the program is correct and then ban the player if confirmed. A lot of times staff are not aware of hackers unless a player complains. This would lead to hackers being realized sooner; before they cause too much damage. I'm not sure if this would interfere with other features the server has. Good anti-cheats can be very expensive and having some crappy one would cause more harm than good. TBH I would rather see more features than an anti-cheat. As Yatty said; the staff does an adequate job in handling hackers.
If it seems like it's a privacy issue, make sure only "admins+" can have it, because they can usually rule out official investigations for something this big with reasonable ease. And this wouldn't be a verdict i'd be apart of an investigation unless it's a clear answer.
Creating the perfect anti-cheat will never be possible. A proactive anti-cheat will have false positives, but we don't need one like that. The only anti-cheat we need is one that catches the really obvious hackers, ones that don't try to cover their tracks at all. Something simple like this will have a minimal impact on server performance and will have no false positives, while still making the staff member's job easier. The rest of them can be handled by the staff team.
my experience with cake is plenty of false positives and stupidity. old x1, but what verified suggested should be considered again.

Look I mean this is the best way possible (I am hoaxers brother) I have hacked before, and I got banned and for one thing in the hacking community no cheat so far can bypass Cake anti cheat and so yeah its actualy really good and I feel it could be useful to prevent future hackers to come on and well, hack. Although staff does a good job handling hackers what happens when no staff are on? There will be a delay in the ban. Hackers try and cover up their hacks most of the time. Saying this meaning that you MUST have an anti cheat to work out this issue. My experience with Cake is it only bans HACKERS and client side lua scripters. I thought a server like this would have the best anti cheat but when I joined on my account and turned on hacks, nothing prevented me. Furthermore I believe that this server needs anti cheat because it seems like a bad target when they see it, but when hackers join they think: "Gee if I can hack on this server I can hack on others too!" We don't want this, I know this is a server issue but what about hackers in genral I mean, hackers are very dangerous and can ruin a lot of things that other people put a lot of work into, such as servers and programs and (ect.) I know this does not seem like the thing I would normaly type, but take into consideration that you need it if you want this server to be a success and I belive that you (The server) can get an anti cheat and ban hackers. Lastly you need anti cheat to help when people are trying to ddos, I have heard that !cake anti cheat provides 10 GBS of ddos protection, I know you already have Zyphs Network protection, but just think an extra 10 GBS can save the server. This is a shame that I am banned, but as of now I wish to help so, This has been great and RIP Elite for something my brother did. (I will be unbanned soon.) Byeeeee and have a good DAy! Elite
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BITCH WAT HAHAHAHA No in all seriousness, an idiot with a broom could bypass cake. And my experience happens to be not so good. I personally have been falsely banned by Cake, not once, not twice, but 4 different times. Even if Cake is configured properly, there will always be malfunctions in it that will cause false positives. We do NOT need an anti cheat here. You state yourself that staff do a well enough job. "What happens when there is no staff?", that is where the help of the community members come into play. This community relies on each other as a whole to get those meaners off the streets. Regardless if the bans are delayed, they will still be banned. Most hacking bans are usually taken care of quicker than most other reports.
