RDM Punishment

I had this great idea. Most of you might not think so, though. If you don't whatever.

I thought what if every time an innocent kills an innocent or a detective kills an innocent, the killer loses HP afterwords. Therefor making it seem more risky to kill an innocent, especially w/out staff on, because you'd be at risk for killing yourself if you RDM. Mass RDMer's wouldn't even stand a chance.

HP Amount Taken: (Left up to community)

Please take the time to read below before you make any of following arguments.

    Possible Arguments:

What about killing an innocent on legal terms, like passing unided bodies, having DNA, false kos's, shooting near players etc.? Why should I loose damage for that?

Well you'd only be taking partial damage and would be taking on the same risk for being killed later on cause of DNA, killing an Innocent, etc. Besides a detective could just heal you later anyway.

Then this should replace getting slain...

No it wouldn't, because if you get killed for killing an innocent mid-round anyone can kill you for it which would act as punishment the same way.

Then couldn't someone consider themselves proven from losing HP?

No, because their are so many different ways they could've lost damage like being sniped, falling earlier, etc.

Why should detectives have to lose HP since they could have DNA on an innocent?

Because it wouldn't be fair. And detectives are still able to RDM just as much as innocents are. They could still give themselves a health station.

While it's certainly creative, I'm not sure how useful or practical it would be. An inno who kills an inno for a good reason loses health and becomes an easier target for traitors. If they're lucky they'll get to use a health station, but many games go without a health station, or with a hidden one. For this to really make a difference against mass RDMers, the HP loss would have to be around 15-20 HP.

Replacing the Karma system with Healthy deduction system seems too serious/punishing.

I've had rounds where I've killed 3-4 innocents for incredibly valid reasons. I'm talking they're damaging me first, calling false KOSes on me, and so on. Like Zombina said, HP stations aren't always available. This system would be punishing me for just playing the game normally.

It's an idea, but I feel like it just would punish normal players too much.

Also, how is this not telling someone's role? Someone kills someone, they lose HP and you witness it. Now you know they're innocent; given that a traitor wouldn't lose HP.

  11. -1. No practicality/reason to change the current system. RDM'ers are almost always punished, even if a mod isn't online

    • Punishing players for following the rules and playing the game? No thanks.
    • People play TTT to have fun, how would this allow anybody to have fun?
    • Couldn't I just commit traitorous acts as an innocent so somebody kills me and loses health/dies on purpose? - I would have basically just RDMed somebody and won't be punished for it.
    • If somebody is shooting people and not loosing health...I suppose that proves they are a traitor. (as stated by MangaTango)
    • It's already a risk to kill or damage anybody.
    • Wouldn't this scare people from trying to kill anybody for valid reasons?
    • Innocents commit traitorous acts all the time, the traitors almost won't have to do anything because everybody will end up dead from shooting each other for valid reasons and loosing all their health because of it.
    • Mass RDMers are doomed anyway and the staff team is perfectly capable of dealing with them.
A very creative idea - but to put it harshly, this suggestion would destroy TTT.

I agree with everything you said in this post except TTT is literally just a game about following the rules. not saying some people don't find it fun, but about 90% of it is just "how 2 win via rules". idk.

but yeah. what would happen if a moderator was on and this system was in place? doesn't really make too much sense. good idea, just not for this server.

I think it is safe to assume the point behind entertainment is for people to enjoy it. TTT is entertainment, and people play it. Generally people entertain themselves with something that they enjoy and have fun doing. TTT isn't about following rules, although I suppose it can be whatever you want it to be for yourself. Winning while following the rules is the game; without rules it is free for all deathmatch - not TTT. I totally understand that some find the rules limiting, but the point behind it is to keep the gamemode TTT and to keep order.

  16. so many loopholes in this suggestion...
    - Prop killing
    - any game mode involving killing like one in the chamber or team deathmatch.
    - Drowning someone.

And also, this is kinda stupid because theres no "real" punishment ingame.

THIS IS BASICALLY PROP-HUNT BUT WITH INNOCENTS.
