My mic constantly sounds like complete shit! Like it sounds like a fucking robot high on fucking godamn drugs. I don't know why it doesn't work,it works with tf2, it works with evolve. BUT IT DOESN"T WORK WITH GMOD!!!! I've already checked my gmod voice settings AND my steam voice settings and it still doesn't work. Before you say "Oh u just need a new mic or something" No i don't my mic works completely fine with skype and discord but not fucking gmod. If any of u know what i need to do to get this mic to work PLEASE TELL ME!!!
It could be your Internet failing you or something with your connection to the servers. Try looking into that. Also it may sound stupid but try unplugging and plugging your mic back into your pc while you have gmod open idk it's wroth a shot.
In microphone settings do you have microphone boost turned on?this could heavily distort your voice if it's turned on.
Doctor, try contacting support from the company that makes your mic. If they can't fix it, no one can really, lol.
I've turned mic boost gain off over and over again put the fucking thing doesn't want to stay off!!!!!
Hey I'm reading up on your problem and some causes could be your internet, if you live really far from the servers you play on (100+ ping) that could mess with your voice, could be you have a built in mic plugged in, doubt it you would've noticed... Right? , or lastly your mic is fucked up but that ain't the case for you. If anything mess with the settings and use the ingame mic tester until you think it sounds better.
He has tried all of that, and his internet was fine when I was with him....did you hit "Apply" after you unchecked the gain box, doctor? I still think your best bet now is to contact Apple about support, if you are using an Apple mic.
If the Microphone is working for everything else but Garry's Mod. Then the problem does not lie with the mic. What operating system are you using? A Windows or a Macintosh?
Won't be operating system if it works on other things. It's probably one of 3 causes: One of your in-game Garry's Mod settings are messed up You have a 3rd party application tinkering with your voice pitch etc. just for Garry's Mod You have a poor connection to the server (use net_graph 1 to see your ping, choke, etc. if you have difficulty sending data to the server, that can also effect) Try a mic test in-game to definitely eliminate any problems with your mic, possibly also the application end of things (eliminating bullet 1 & 2).
1. What do u mean one of my in-game Gmod's setting are messed up? All my setting are fine or atleast that's what i think 2. 3rd party application? Like what? 3. My connection is fine when playing in the serious servers so i don't know why it doesn't work
I actually don't know since I don't have a built in mic, but you should try to make sure your mic settings or input? Settings isn't on default but your actual mic.
