KOSing people passing unID'ed, and why it's BS.

So, I've been playing a while and I have a serious problem with one of the rules. As you can tell by the title, it's about KOSing people who pass unID'ed bodies.

I'm sick of getting killed because I didn't run into the middle of the gunfight to ID a body. Just recently, this occurred with @Candycaneore (I will provide the video proof if necessary) When this same individual passed an unid'ed themselves four seperate times after this.

Also, there's been constant issues with people claiming that an individual passed an unid'ed body, and moderators taking the side of the person claiming this WITHOUT PROOF that the person passed an unid'ed body.

Why is this allowed to happen?

 

you need to realize that this game is all about perspective, you might be chasing a T who just killed a guy, and you pass an unid'd because the T is still nearby, but little johhny swoops around the corner and sees you running from an unid'd, so he kills you.

i hope you know the answer to the second question(you should lol) but i'll explain it anyway, when a report is word vs word, staff cannot do anything, if the player you reported is lying or loopholing, try to record him yourself or ask the staff to keep an eye on that person. also don't assume the worst about others, just because you didn't see an unid'd doesn't mean it wasn't there.

 

It's allowed to happen usually for a few reasons. Number one, if one claims there's an unidentified body that you didn't identify it would be considered a Word vs Word report. This meaning that neither party will be slain for their actions. This is primarily created so that sides don't get chosen over favoritism and the like. Now, if a corpse isn't identified some time after the death of yourself, or the person whom you're KOSing, then they will probably keep a close eye on you as to make sure that you're not lying to loophole yourself out of a slay. Knowledge is power, unless abused to get your own way.

The reason mods CAN'T slay for the reply of "unid'ed body" is that it is a word vs word. Meaning neither side has ultimate proof showing they never passed an unid'ed or they did. Now if you have proof such as you said, you can report said player for loopholing if they lied in the report.

Here's the thing though. Mods allow people to kill others when they claim they passed an unided (unless all the bodies are IDed at the time, and they're plain lying)

While it's word vs. word, it's not fair for either party, ultimately.

So you're saying you just stand around when people are shooting, traitor or innocent? Also, you're failing to notice, I wasn't the only one who backed away, and nobody else in the group was singled out so why was I killed instantly (IGNORE THE FACT I WAS A TRAITOR. I WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AS AN INNOCENT EITHER WAY)

 

Doesn't matter that it is fair, they can't act upon it. Admin + can because they have admin discretion. Otherwise mods are really supposed to be robots. Sad truth.

 

there is no other way for staff on sTTT to do word vs word, i suggest you have recording software ready, it makes a big difference.


i am saying that not reacting fast enough or not reacting at all might get you killed for GBA. i watched the video a bunch of times and i think you should re-watch it too, you were the only one on that side, and you were staring right at him lol. yes, you would've been killed as an innocent too if you had reacted that way, because you did not react to the shooting at all.

For your point about taking the side of the person without proof, you don't have proof either you know. That's why it's called word vs word and why moderators don't punish for it.

 

One of the main advantages as T is using the MIA to prevent people from doing the math and knowing whos t and whos not.


Lets put this in a real life scenario, people hear gun shots and they run to find you running from the dead body with a gun OBVIOUSLY they think you are the murderer

 

That situation you had with Candy was also GBA, as you didn't act upon the person who just killed a guy right in front of you for no good reason. But she didn't claim GBA.

Moderators certainly DO NOT take "Sides". If you say that you didn't pass an Unidentified body and the other person says, that you did. Then it becomes Word vs. Word and we cannot go any further into the report unless you the victim, have your own piece of evidence. Which in this case, it would need to be video footage showing before you died that there were no Unided's. Then we can punish this person as needed with your evidence.

If a moderator were to punish a player without evidence/proof of there being any unided's or not, and that punished player were to report said Moderator, it would most likely be an immediate demotion. Why? Because, the situation is so technical, that all us Moderators have to go on, is who's died previously and not been Identified within the Damage Logs. With that being said, there's not a lot we can view to know what really happened. That's why YOU the player/victim need to gather your own evidence to prove you're telling the truth.

 

I think the big reason we keep this rule is because of how black and white it is. There is no grey area when explaining it, you passed an unided body which is REFUSING to aid in the innocents in deducing who the traitor is. Imagine if you are the last t and there is only one innocent. If all the bodies are ided then the innocent can say without a doubt you are a traitor by the scoreboard alone, so NOT identifying them is aiding the traitors. Sure, people can lie about this but if they do someone will eventually find out and they will get into some serious trouble as lying is a serious offense.

Besides, changing this rule now could lead to some serious confusion and people being slain out of ignorance.

We don't punish people as it is word vs word, meaning that we aren't going to punish people without any evidence of the player doing wrong.
Why?

Otherwise something along the lines of this would happen:


Basically if you don't feel like watching it, the staff member couldn't gather enough evidence and based it off of suspicion of the person doing wrong (which he didn't; admittedly at the beginning and the end). People can be deceitful and they will use that to their advantage - if we had it the other way around with word vs word. In the end, it all became one giant circle jerk leading to the innocent person being banned afterward.

But feel free to watch the entire video as it is pretty entertaining and informational.

 

Just saying when I killed you for passing an unid a while back and explained it to you you told me that you always ignore unid bodies, plus always walk passed them and don't believe you should be killed for it.

Now you know that the rules say you can be killed for it and sure, you can protest on the forums that you don't like said rule, but when you choose to ignore it and then blame others when the backlash hits you for ignoring the rule, that's you own fault
