I believe the tec-9 has a high magazine count and has a high rate of fire making it spammable on hs wars. This makes it more of a shoot-n-hope game rather than a skill game so how abut replacing it with a gun with a lower rate of fire?
Disagree with Carned, since although Gmod hitboxes are bad, when the Headshot Wars happen with slow fire-rate guns such as Rifle or Barrett usually the dude with best aim wins. I'd also suggest removing the HK SL8 from Headshot Wars because it's basically a slow firerate assault rifle with a scope.
With any weapon used, other than shotties, in HS wars it's about skill. The argument of spamming shots could be used for all of the weapons and, since it's a level playing field, it still comes down to who has the best aim. If you decide to spam shots, that's your style, while some players take time with each shot. I will admit that the Tec-9 has a steeper learning curve when figuring out how to play defensively, but just because you can get killed with it faster doesn't mean it should be removed; sometimes you just have to play a little more on the safe side. With suggestions, my advice to the OP and anyone suggesting to remove something from the game is to be specific about a replacement. Have a workshop link to completely replace the item or know something you would want to see so others can support you better. If you're having problems figuring out a replacement, just ask the community members in the shoutbox; collect some data and go to work. One final thing is that you need to make sure to search for similar suggestions before creating one. Thank you.
It's not about who has the best aim if the case is that the weapon has a high inaccuracy/spread value like in the case of the Tec-9. There is a higher degree of variance in where the bullet goes in comparison with the "single-fire" weapons typical of snipers. So Mango's counterargument against spamming shots does not make sense since if the bullet doesn't go where the crosshair is 100% of the time then it's a probabilistically BETTER strategy to spam shots TOWARDS the general direction of their head rather than disciplined aim. In addition to that, he's not suggesting a removal of the Tec-9 altogether, only in regards to being in the pool of weapons chosen for Headshot Wars. Clearly, we already fail to see practically any automatic weapons, and we're only given slow firing rifles(with the exception of the HK SL8, more on this later) and pistols. It wouldn't be a bad idea to cull the number of weapons used in Headshot Wars as we're trying to make it a mini-game based on skill right? There is to be a clear distinction between the HK SL8 and the Tec-9 however. The HK SL8, although it has the capability to fire fast, gains an inaccuracy spread if you choose to do so. Otherwise, those who choose to wait to shoot again actually gain an advantage in that their shots will not deviate from the crosshair very much. This is in contrast to the Tec-9 where there is a high spread even on the first shot. The skill component is COMPLETELY absent from the Tec-9 and instead becomes a game of who can click mouse1 faster and hope their shots land first. It's not a matter of "learning to play defensively" there just isn't a skill component involved if the weapon doesn't shoot at where the crosshair is. In regards to Carned's comment about GMOD hitboxes, I think I'll be making a thread soon about hitboxes and tickrate misconceptions. Fairly certain most everyone on the server has their rates set up sub-optimally.
