Candycaneore told me that my name was unreadable/needed to be 3 English letters (My IGN is just '404')

Rule #8 states that: No unreadable nicknames (must contain 3 or more English characters)

Candy argued that "English characters" means "English letters"

If you look at the wikipedia entry (or basically any dictionary) for alphanumeric, you can see that it references "alphabetic and numeric characters"

Both letters and numbers are characters, at least according to any standard definiton of the word.

I refused to change my name because candy was enforcing a rule that does not exist. No where in the rules does it say my name needs to be letters. As a result I was kicked.

Is it a stupid thing to argue about? Absolutely. Was the punishment harsh? No. Does this show a certain level of incompetence in an admin? I believe so. What a trivial thing to argue over - especially when (presumably) anyone you ask will agree that numbers are English characters, including basically the entire server minus candy and another mod (whose name I forget).​

404 was kicked from server for "not using english characters" When in the rules and MOTD numbers are not defined as against the rules. Diehard01 was also a part of this. His name is perfectly readable and despite logic and reasoning that numbers are technically a consider english characters they still kicked 404.​

Candycaneore wrongfully kicked a player named '404' because his name "didn't contain 3 English characters" which is not clearly stated in the MOTD. It states "No unreadable nicknames (must contain 3 or more English characters)" but has no mention for not being able to have numbers. That being said, I and just about everyone else on the server, agreed that this was very unfair to 404 and debateably abuse of mod powers.​

I was in the server at the time. 404 is the easiest name I've ever read on the server. It literally enunciates as FOUR OH FOUR. Come on.

Candycaneore defends (and definitely did) warn 404 to change his name, three times. He was then kicked.

I'm wondering if the rules state: No unreadable nicknames (must contain 3 or more English characters)

How does "FourOhFour" constitute as an unreadable nickname less than 3 characters?​

Deathshot, Ryker, Crusader, Deathshot, have agreed to testiomony on this, though most everyone on the server disagreed with her judgement​

 

You don't need to make multiple reports against a staff member for the same reason, one will have the same results as the others.

Seems she had some kind of misunderstanding as far as how the 3 English character rule was interpreted. She had mistakenly thought it had to be 3 English letters and didn't consider the possibility of numerical characters being involved. Due to this mistake, the whole situation on the server had panned out the way it did. Considering your name was still able to be read out and targeted, you should not have been kicked from the servers. As a result, she and I had a small talk about how it should really be interpreted. 404, I would like to apologize for the experience my Moderator had provided and she will know better than to do that again. Mistakes can happen while you are staffing and these kinds of mistakes are easy to fix in the end. Now that this has been brought up with her, she will now know how to prevent these kinds of situations from coming up again. Thank you for the forum report. This report on my Moderator has been found valid.
