I need to understand this. I was AFK for the beginning of the round. I was T and my T buddy killed a bunch of people then got gunned down. I then came back to my keyboard just in time to get shot in the face because "I didn't shoot the guy who killed everyone" Then the mod then told me AFK's can be held accountable for traitorous acts so the person wasn't slayed. I'm just trying to comprehend this. I don't care about the slay anymore but this is a logic which seems off because I have been slayed in the past for shooting an AFK player. The player who shot be suspected I was T and shot. Isn't that shooting an AFK and/or shooting on sus? Thanks for the reply, as I said, I just want to understand.
Going AFK is a tactic people use to get away with killing people. You spray down 2/3 people, pull out your crowbar, and then stand still until the innocents come by and identify the remains and move on, usually, they don't expect the AFK. That's why you can hold AFKs accountable for their traitorous acts. Also, you just "witnessed" your t-buddy kill a group of people, meaning you can be killed for GBA.
-You may kill AFK players in Overtime, however you may still be killed for killing an innocent AFK, as killing innocents is a traitorous act. This is simply because the AFK player may be delaying the round as an AFK traitor. To further add to this, detectives may not be killed for being AFK during overtime. There is a 100% certainty that they are innocent and, as such, killing them would be considered RDM. Note: AFK players are not exempt from traitorous acts and may still be killed for them. http://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/a-guide-to-sttt-extended-rules-info-tips-tricks.12605/ What they said above, is correct.
I also want to point out the reason AFKs are not immune to GbA. Basically, a lot of players will act AFK to catch traitors committing traitorous acts; killing a group of AFK players. Because of this, AFKs are not immune to Guilt by Association. The rule that your are not allowed to kill AFKs until overtime is to possibly speed up the round in the case of a delaying traitor. However, in round events trump the idle events such as time restrictions. Basically, you could blame your traitor buddy for killing someone, committing another traitorous act, or not IDing a body next to you.
Spoiler: Wall of text Ok, you were AFK and a T. Your T buddy killed everyone around you, EXCEPT you. Of course, why would your T buddy kill you? That'd be RDM? So, why doesn't the person who kills you get pinned for RDMing you since you technically did nothing as you couldn't have when you weren't even playing? Well, seeing as you're still in-game you should not get special treatment if you go AFK because your person is clearly still affecting the game as you were a T. "Well, they could've waited until overtime?" Well, true, but here's where the issue gets resolved And not to mention you're surrounded by unid'd bodies and are not ID-ing them, regardless if you're AFK or not your character which is still in-game is committing a traitorous act. And that's because AFKs shouldn't get special treatment. They're in-game just like anyone else, except standing still and doing nothing. Now, let's say NO ONE kills anyone around you, but someone claims you were around an unid'd. Let's say this unid'd was planted around you, that'd be loopholing because clearly it was there to begin with and it was false evidence. You were slain in the past for shooting an AFK player for either the wrong reason, or your reason was a lie, or it wasn't overtime. The person who shot you was ALLOWED to kill you based on the rules that you were around a pool of dead unid'd bodies and doing nothing about it and can be killed for such, OR if someone witnessed another person kill them around you, but not you, then you can be killed for not killing that person as you were witnessing a traitorous act. Shooting an AFK is not suspicious if they're committing traitorous acts, whether intentionally or not. It's all explained in the extended rules like ppl have said.
When I first read this I was confused and I want to make sure you guys aren't as well If you're standing over already ided bodies, or even if they aren't but the reason someone kills you is that the traitor left you alive, that is NOT gba. They could have been sniped from far away, could have been killed with a grenade, etc. You may have had no real vision of the traitor. Just saying don't think because someone wasn't killed around like 3 other people when you walk out of community pool you can just kill them unless it's for unideds. Make sense?
