League Of Legends (And how badly its distracting staff)

I know, we all love to play different games. Not just Garry's Mod, but the amount of times I've seen people crying out for staff in the shoutbox, without any help, only to find out half the staff team is on LoL is starting to get bad. If it were not for the fact that its been happening on multiple occasions, it'd be fine.

Before you say anything, I understand that you can't staff all day every day, but its starting to get out of hand.

Just an instance today which was caused by this problem.

 

We had 2-4 staff members playing in the tournament per game? That's not really the entire staff team, and what's wrong with them playing other games? There will almost always be a demand for staff regardless of whether they're playing league or not.
Most people were actually staffing while we were not playing in the tournament.

 

This sounds familiar.

 

Most of the people attending the tournament are not staff members. Only 3-4 staff members are in the tournament. Staff members went and staffed servers in match downtime as well. This isn't the tournaments fault, this is literally your average shoutbox, just with an actual scapegoat this time.

I have over double the hours of whats required of me and I play league. My hours are fine, and sometimes I just don't want to ONLY play Gmod. League is not a distraction, as I'm not neglecting my duties as a staff member. Most of the people in the tournament aren't even staff if you check. It honestly astounds me you'd make this thread without all the facts.

 

Just cause your a mod doesn't mean everyday and every minute you have to mod.

As alpha said people complain that there's never a mod there 24/7. Mod is like a job. You work your hours and your done. Even thought I have never modded for a big server I can say for a fact mods are not there to baby you when you're playing. If you ever played attention to SB you would realize it's not just for TTT or Gmod, it's for people to talk like TS.
A real world example is like walking up to a guy who runs a cafe and asking for a coffee when he's at home.

Theres going to be times when theres no staff. Whether that be because they're on another server, on another game, or just hanging out in the shoutbox because they're unable to mod but want to talk with the community.

This is basically shaming mods who aren't available when you want them to be on.
They got lives too, chill.

 

Shadow, if you notice in what I said, I said I understand you don't want to play ONLY Gmod. And I'm not saying your hours are bad, I'm saying that there's people asking for mod and they don't get it until later on.

Apparently some people can't read. I stated in the original post that I understand you don't have to spend all day every day moderating.

 

Team underdogs forfeited after the first game, guilty has barely subbed in, han solo didnt even play he was just a sub as a joke.

So here are the staff members who really had their time taken up by the tournament: Steven, Shadow, Sinz, and Senko. 4.

Point is still invalid. Moderator is not a job where you spend your WHOLE entire day modding the server. It's for people who can Dedicate some of their time to helping out others. It's a voluntary job and they aren't forced to do it. You should be lucky we have such good mods unlike other servers where they hire anyone that can type !ban *

 

Well, Rogers, I didn't count emtech cause Deathrun. and I dunno Verified.

 

Well let's see.

On team LCSBIGPLAYS the only two people who ever played were Sinz and Senko which makes two, and on team shadow only Shadow and Steven played. Considering that only 1 game was going on at a time, yeah that equals 4 if my math is correct.

 

So then whats the point of the thread? Awareness? Are you calling for some sort of action? Whats your suggestion to fix this. Whats the actual issue here?

What else could you possibly be saying then.

 

Shadow, you seem to be just proving my end right. You literally just showed two instances where I said that I understand that its not a 24/7 thing, and you play other games. (Using different terms, yes.)

 

Well I think he's asking what your point is?

 

Staff has an hour requirement that they need to reach. What they do past those hours, is entirely up to them.

Second point: the servers usually are unstaffed around that time of day due to people having other things to do, regardless of the tournament taking place or not.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with this. Things such as this tournament rarely take place.

Final note: if there is one thing to learn about being staff (or observing them) it's that there will always be RDM thus staff will be needed. Always. And we are not always available.

So, making a thread about it, saying it's "starting to get out of hand" shows me you can not see things from our perspective.
