This is a re-post due to the loss of data on the website that had occurred recently.

Recap: There is a pending ban (55 Days!) due to an stretched claim on Ghosting through the use of the PM system.

The PM used to report me was taken out of context. There was a multi-round/map discussion between players about reading chat for KOS's and the like.

The PM in particular here was sent from me to another player continuing an arguement where I say: "read chat fgt"

Heavy emphasis on the insult, seeing as me and this person weren't seeing eye to eye on this discussion. Moving onward: The player himself claims that he was going to attack the T-player since the remaining players were proven via tester and all bodies were ID'd.

In chronological order:

• I KOS a player
• Immediately send a PM out
• The KOS'd player goes noticed
• The PM'd player states that all other players have been proven via tester; leaving the last T-player that I KOS'd (among others that round) is the odd man out
• The PM'd player kills the player
• I get told from that PM'd player to not call him names ever again (he is upset)
• I tell this PM'd player to get over it and learn to read
• I get reported for "Ghosting"
• I was never asked about it nor was I confronted by the staff on at the time

I was also informed that my ban was "extended" due to my history. I understand the need to do this, but it has already been done twice. I have taken those bans in the past with respect and patience. To add, these recent bans were placed with extensions and were re-applied because of an error server-side. Again, I take the ban calmly and respectfully.

I would like to propose the following:

1. Remove the extension of the ban since I have paid my penance for previous behavior in the past.
2. Remove the ghosting ban because the rules state that (vaguely) that anything that "tips the scale" or the like is not allowed. This player had open expressed his desire to kill the player due to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT set of circumstances. Without my PM, he would have done the same. Hell, when the player asked why he was killed, the response was repeated more than once to show his conclusion.
3. There is a RDM and Leave ban that is sitting on another server... I have never done this intentionally and cannot make much of a case here. I suppose it is best to leave this ban as since it has drawn out a chunk of its course.

As it stands, I have a 56 Ban on West and West 2. Assuming from this ghosting accusation. I also have a 4 or 5 day ban on one of the East servers (possibly the RDM & Leave). And a 27 day ban on another East server: which I don't even know what is happening here...​

The player @Sickle came up to me that you ghosted to them. At first glance it doesn't seem like ghosting but the rules generally state that telling anyone information they don't already know via 3rd party chat is ghosting as it will change the outcome of the game, and he told me that was the case. If by any chance this was taken completely out of context, you can send screenshots of your full conversation. The reason it was globalized and extended was because of your history. I'd also like to say that I counted Bm's previous global only once as they are technically the same single ban. The point of extending bans for history is because the player should learn from former mistakes/know to be more careful in game. Since this was a more minuscule case of ghosting and you calling it a stretch isn't unreasonable I will ask to get it reduce to simply 4 weeks, however it will stay global'd because of your history. Once my admin is available your ban will be changed to 4 weeks. My decision isn't set in stone if you can convince me/make valid points against what I just stated in a followup post.

Thanks for taking the time to write up this Appeal for a second time due to the technical difficulties involving the forums and last night! The Globalised and Extended Ghosting ban I sadly cannot help you with, however, I can provide the reasons as to why I banned you for RDM and Leave, 1st Offence on the West 2 server back on the 17th of this month.

Below in the Spoiler you will find an attached image of the event that was brought to my attention by the player BryanTehHero. I had just joined the server during that round, and after the player had killed you he soon after messaged me via Admin chat that you had tried killing him; a Detective, as an Innocent. I told him that I would investigate his claim and I did in-fact find an incident in that round were you had shot and damaged him.

Spoiler: Possible RDM

Looking at the Damagelogs, I could not find clear reasoning as to why you may have shot him. BryanTehHero had not damaged you first nor shot at all during ten seconds leading up to your shooting, nor was there any other gunfight at the same time to lead to the possibility of it being cross-fire. As I could not find any particular reason why you shot him, I decided that I would Report you the following Round asking you why - the reason why I did not report you immediately is because you cannot report a player unless you have actually 'played' a Round; so the plan was to wait until I had died the follow round to Report you about it.

Sadly, before this time had past you left the server, and so I could not ask you about the damage. I waited until Map Change in-case you would come back, but as you didn't I decided to issue you the ban for RDM and Leave, 1st Offence.

If you could give me solid reason as to why you shot and damaged the Detective I would love to hear it! If not and this was an accident, let me know as well because that's all fine as accidents happen. I do understand that I was in the server for a total of five minutes before you left, so it's possible you didn't even realise a staff member had entered.

Of course, regardless of this incident, I am not in control of your Globalised ban, so cannot help you with that one. But I hope everything works out. Looking forward to your reply!

 

@Pandora: I wish I had known I was being accused of Ghosting to being with. Two maps later I'm banned without the slightest clue as to why. Had I been informed, I might have been able to make a solid case. Even if I did, you are correct about the wording of the rule. I suppose I will leave it to your first instinct on the matter, since that is all you had to go on at the time. I'll be more careful with PMs (if not avoid them altogether) in the future.

@BlueCore: All I can recall of that night was @SchmooveySchmoove being hilarious. To be honest, looking at the name BryanTehHero, I don't sense any grudge or poor history. It might have been a verbal KOS that I received from him from a previous round... Either that or he was prop-killing and I wasn't going to have it. To clarify: had I sensed that I RDM'd someone, I would have stuck around to make a case or take a slay (less of a penalty; even if he deserved it). As an unfortunate turn of events, I will not fight that RDM and Leave Offense: let it stand as is. There isn't much else I can do for that.

I'd like to thank the staff for your rapid response(s) coupled with the server loss. It allows me to clarify what had occurred and adjust my future behavior appropriately. I have, and always will, trust the staff to determine the penalty of such actions. I feel like I made the best case I could in the current circumstances and rest my defense.
