I didn't wanna grave dig so I decided to make another thread. I noticed a lot of people have recently purchased payday during the crimefest sale. I've even noticed new faces playing and some old faces playing again. As some of us fans of payday 2 are always excited for crimefest as we are rewarded with free goodies. However, the first day of crimefest may have not have been the best as some of us know why. Good thing is they changed the whole valve case opening scheme, but doesn't change the fact Overkill lied to us. So I'm making this thread to try and get some of the newcomers into the game and bring back the old veterans (like myself.) It would be nice to get some games in again and get more of the community into it. If interested, post below and we can see when we can setup some game days.
@Anarchist plays. We do some heists together sometimes, I'm not particularly good at it, but it's still fun.
Infamy 10, Rank 100. I eat Skulldozers for breakfast, shields for lunch, and tazers for dinner w/ a light sprinkling of cloakers for dessert & snacks. The Fluffy InstaGuide to Success - AKA "Playing Like Fluffy" http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mQSNOLhIJ...25-46-21-8-48-53-51-50-11:s9-20-6-3-1-21-2:a4 <- My main 'Loud' build, if you're interested. It focuses on massive health regen (maxes out at 9.0%/second with a single hostage) combined with a ludicrous health pool (414 HP to be exact) with a focus on intense speed (Fugitive skills allow the Heavy Ballistic Vest to be comparable to the Flak Jacket in terms of armor, with better speed, stamina, etc, while also increasing base speed by 10%, great for any build). Word of warning. YOU WILL NEED TO BE INFAMY RANK 5, MINIMUM, TO RECREATE THIS BUILD. In creating it I took full advantage of the tier cost reduction (fewer points invested to unlock higher tier skills, means 4 points to get tier 2) and lower levels simply don't have the points to replicate this, or the maxed out Muscle perk deck which is a requirement. For this build to work you need to constantly regenerate, with or without a hostage, so Muscle is a must. I will tell you all that this build is completely broken. It's reload speed, movement speed, and other attributes, far outweigh other builds I've tried or seen. You are basically unkillable, and able to farm ammo drops without worrying about the HP loss, as long as you don't go down. 9% regen/sec = 100% hp in 11.5 seconds or so, which is NOT interrupted by taking damage, so that's nice. It's weaponry is also made up of the AMR-16 w/ DMR Kit (incorrectly shown, it actually does approximately 170+ damage per shot) that has a hidden boost to your ammo pickup rate, making it better than all other DMRs in terms of longevity in combat (Yes, I know the hidden stats are dumb and don't make any sense). The Bronco revolver now deals a whopping 217 damage a shot, utterly eclipsing pretty much every gun in the game with it's utterly broken damage output. This little baby can kill a skulldozer in a single clip, provided you've marked them & only hit the faceplate, two clips if your aim is bad. And I know you're probably thinking, "But the reload must be atrocious!" well I've got some fucking hilarious news for you. It reloads faster than my assault rifle, even with the Kilmer buff. That's not an exaggeration, it reloads faster than a comparable clip loading pistol even, weird rite? All of this said I'd like to mention a specific attachment for my AMR-16, the Quadstacked mag. It may seem really useless in a sniper to carry ALL your ammo in the clip (60/72 bullets in the clip, practically every bullet you've got), but it means that you are always able to top your mag off with whatever you've got in your pockets. It also means you will never experience a "Dead Man's Click" until you actually run out of ammunition entirely, which is also nice. My advice with this weaponry is to take your time, get your bearings as far as headshots are concerned, and make sure to keep those helmets flying, you greedy, violent, thieving reprobates. <3<3<3 TL;DR? That link is a completely overpowered build, even if it may not seem like it. Only useful on Loud heists this build is capable of; - Regenerating 9% HP/Sec - Reviving at range - Soaking large amounts of enemy gunfire - Outrunning most players with ease - Dominating enemies to trade for allies - Tagging enemies at long range, adding debuffs to them - Killing those enemies at whatever range you choose - Bronco .44 OP, nerfplz. P.S. Your headshot ratio should pass 50%, if it doesn't with this loadout, it's not really going to work out on higher difficulties and you should rethink your weaponry to better suit your playstyle. I favor rapid, successive, headshots to quickly clear out crowds and save ammunition, maybe you don't. ^_^ Edit: Yes. I am a huge nerd. Yes. I will expand this to include my stealth build if asked. Yes. I will actually write the entirety of 'The Fluffy InstaGuide' if people would like that.
I would like to state, in an unattached post, that Overkill consistently states falsehoods in the name of generating hype. Infamy 2.0, the original Crimefest (We just freaking got the FBI files, like 2 months ago), and even the actual goddamn RELEASE was a lie. They promised 35 heists on release, there were 10. Infamy 2.0 promised meaningful infamy system expansion and gave us Masks & Bonus XP. Crimefest #1 gave us days upon days of masks, and withheld the FBI files for a long, long time. Then when they released the FBI files, they reneged on a promise to the owner of PD2Stats.com (you can go read his open letter to Ovk & the community at pd2stats.com) to NOT include a breakdown of player stats, as well as completely ignoring him after promising to work closely with him. Overkill and it's CEO (Bo) are straight up liars at a corporate level. Bo actually claims that cops throw the flashbang grenades, and that's a right laugh considering -> I promise if you watch that video you'll understand they've been lying to you the entire time, as well as understanding the SEVERE flaws present in the code of Payday 2. Also, this really is worth stating, just because OVK is a bunch of greedy pricks doesn't make Payday 2 a bad game, in my eyes. Edit: If you are wondering how they justified the initial lies, they stated that they had not lied & that the different randomizations of heists counted as their own versions. If you understand how coding a level works, you understand that this is complete nonsense. The map is a job, the randomization is triggered on level creation, and it's a blatant falsehood to state otherwise.
