All guns in TTT hold three clips in total (One in gun, and two spares). Exceptions are the Shotgun for whatever reason, the H.U.G.E-249 for double whatever reason, and the P90 ? Why the P90 though? (Valid question is also for the HUGE, but not the topic at hand.) It shares the SMG ammo pool, but doesn't get to hold the same amount of spare clips. Not only do you have to share the most popular ammo pool, but you get less efficiency per Ammo Pickup. AK-47 and Mac-10, MP5 Navy Seal, FAMAS, GALIL - holds 30 rounds in a clip, 90 in total. 3 Clip total Rifle and AWP - holds 10 rounds in clip, 30 in total. 3 Clip total Shotgun - Holds 8 shells in clip, 24 in total. 4 Clip total M16 - Holds 20 rounds in clip, 60 in total. 3 Clip total H. U.G.E-249 - Hold 150 in clip, but has no ammo pickups (?) 1 Clip total P90 - Holds 50 rounds in clip, 110 in total. 2 and ⅙ total. 110? 2 and ⅙ ? Why is it this way? Would there be some sort of imbalance if we were to bring it up to 3 clips? The suggestion is simple. Allow P90 to hold 150 rounds in total (or 3 Clips) like every other SMG Ammo weapon in the game ! I'd love to hear thoughts and suggestions against or for.
Because then if you have an MP7 or the like, you suddenly have an MP7 with 150 rounds. You can then drop the P90 and pick up an AK47. Now you have an AK47 with 150 rounds. The P90 doesn't need more ammo capacity because it has high fire-rate, high accuracy, and low recoil at the cost of lower bullet damage and high ammo consumption. The lack of ammunition is supposed to be a drawback of the gun, but its one of the best non-sniper long range weapons.
First, no to all that. The P90 already had more ammo capacity then they AK. 110 Bullets to 90. If I drop my P90 and pick up an AK, My AK wont have 110 Bullets. That's not how it works at all, so its disregarded. And on the level of balance, the AK-47 still has much more stopping power compared to the AK, without equal drawbacks. Buffing the P90's ammo conversion per SMG Ammo case wouldn't affect the balance of things when we take into consideration the power the AK and the Shotgun. The weapon should be balanced (as with many others) to be on par with guns like the AK and the Shotgun. Otherwise, we lose weapon diversity and every Donor or higher will use AK's, Non-Donor will use shotguns or just use whatever else they can find.
The P90s max ammo capacity is already higher than the common weapons. There's no point in adding another magazine to it's max to give it an even bigger buff. I want you to try something. The next time you're playing, buy like 3 of them in the point shop and tell me what your ammo count looks like after that.
Its not buffed though. The damage per bullet is hella low compared to the sluggers like AK-47 and Shotgun. Adding a third clip capacity might actually balance it to AK-47 and Shotgun levels. NOTE: As I'm exclusively a Vanillite, I dont know what this point shop is.
Wait, so you think that it would be on the same level as the AK47 if it had another magazine? That simply would never happen. I can kill up to 3 people with one magazine from either weapon. Maybe your experience with the weapon needs a buff.
Hes not saying to put 150 bullets in the active clip like the Huge, but to let you hold 100 bullets in reload ammunition. It would be needlessly complicated to try to re-do the ammo system so that the ammo is only reloaded in the P90. And yes, you could get that 100 ammunition held into an AK. Say you had a P90 and an MP7 (since you only play vanilla, MP7 is a traitor weapon) on hand. The P90 allows you to hold 100 SMG ammo on hand, now both the P90 and the MP7 have 100 ammo reload into since they use the same ammunition types. If you drop the P90, you keep the SMG ammo you stored up since you still have an SMG, the MP7. Now you can pick up any other primary in the game that uses SMG ammo and have 100 ammo in back up.
Actually, I think the AK-47 would still be better. Its rate of fire and Damage per Bullet (DpB) Is a lot better, so much in fact that two bullets to the face with an AK is lethal. If I were to break down the math with Kill potential based on Rate of fire and DpB, AK would trump it.
Well, why don't you use the AK? The reason the weapon is not as powerful is because it has advantages in other areas; magazine size, accuracy, and max ammo. These two weapons are balanced very well and don't need a change in either direction.
The AK's extremely high recoil prevents it from being used at long ranges. For big open areas, the P90 does a lot better.
