Every movie that people mentioned were great movies. I saw almost every theater release movie but mine would not doubt be Gone Girl. That is probably one of my favorite movies of all time. If you haven't checked it out, I recommend you do so ASAP!
I redact my previous reply, now I have to go with Boyhood. I just watched it last night, and it's easily the best movie I've ever seen.
Just watched that the other day, Michael Keaton is a god. Also personally, I would have to vote for Nightcrawler for Jakes brilliant acting.
