Why the hell not, make it so you're not tagged as staff so people will behave as if there's no staff so you can catch them red-handed.
It wouldn't be very convincing because there's still their name, say if highwon was on but he didn't have his owner tag, we'd still know it was highwon
Well, mainly those who do most baddies' things are non-regulars so they wouldn't know who the admins are. But in any case, he could just change his/her name prior to coming on a server and stuff.
+1 People do act differently when there's staff on, so I think this option would be good to observe players and catch RDMers red-handed.
I'm going to give this a -1 for now, however I have a point to state. Players, who could actually need assistance or have questions for our staff, would likely have no idea staff are even on. We should be there to help players, not ignore them unintentionally. Something would also need to be in place to avoid RDM w/No Staff on reports upon the forums, when there are actually staff on and they don't realize it. It would also be completely ruined when some common player screams that "Sinz is staff and hes on!" or when the message is sent while investigating reports. A final thing to mention, is that players who don't know you are staff, would not take you seriously when you speak to them or warn them. I do see a bonus of doing this, and that is to catch rule-breaking players without them even knowing, however, I don't feel this is necessary. If you are a player and witnessing a player clearly behaving as a complete troll, or a rule-breaking player, record it/gather evidence and submit it to our staff.
+1 In the case of hunting down repeat offenders and keeping them on close watch under a different alias. But in general? -1 Well said
