What if it was shortened and in the back for example "[EX]".

The clan tags are allowed as long as they don't cause confusion. It doesn't matter which position they're in. If they do cause confusion with other players, then you will be asked to change your name regardless of what position your clan tag is in.

  3. The same reason applies. Any clan tag anywhere in your name is okay, but if it gets to the point where it causes confusion, it needs to be changed/removed.

Disruptionz is right, it's a bit of a gray area and it's difficult to cover all grounds with a blanket statement, so with that said, names and clan tags have to be handled on a case by case basis. Personally, I don't make an issue about names until they start creating issues.

To best avoid confusion, I think clan tags should be no longer than 4 characters and must be surrounded by some sort of bracket or dash and all in the same location for your clan.

    Good Examples:
    [CINO] Event Horizon
    [CINO] Disruptionz
    [CINO] horse

Each clan tag is in the same location and all conform to the same guidelines like in a real clan. This makes it easy for players to know it is a clan tag.

    Kenny -mlg-
    Sinz -mlg-
    Darktooth -mlg-

Same story as above. Each clan tag is located in the same spot within the name and all surrounded by the same characters.

    Not so good examples:

    [Cream] Pie
    -cream- puff
    Milkshake [cream]
    Cream Shake

Notice how each player makes his or her clan tag different, which makes it very hard to tell whether it's a coherent clan or just a bunch of people with similar tags. Not only that, but the clan tag itself it a bit long and general, which is another reason to cause confusion.

I had my former clan tag, |ÅΩ|, in my name since around... June or July when I started playing in STTT. I've probably played with 90% of staff members up til last week with this tag in my name. Not a single staff member commented about removing it. The only in-game issue it caused was people calling, "KOS AQ" and to that I say they are just lazy and uneducated.

Compared to the Cream case, this is heavily different.

Cream is a commonly used word.

    |ÅΩ| is an assembly of symbols.

It has been said numerous times before as you can see that if the tag doesnt cause confusion it should be fine to have in your name. Cream obviously was a joke and can cause mass confusion compared to the subtle |ÅΩ|.
