Rejected "Trusted" rank

I think a new "Trusted" rank would be good. Maybe be able to see the response of a report?? Or access to a damage logs window. You guys should pitch in your ideas below.

The "Trusted" status should maybe be next to the Donator status (where the staff status normally would be)

I know this is here but it's locked, so I made a new one.

 

I honestly was thinking about this for Ex-Admins.

Obviously Lead's get Advisor but Ex-Admins who resigned on good terms and just needed time to study who still may hop on for an hour a day.

But if players like Myself, @The Law and @MangoTango for example could possibly just do reports it would allow for less staffless servers.

I realise that i've completely ruined your suggestion, however personally i'd feel mine is more realistic.

 

This is TTT. Nobody is trusted in this game unless you're A Detective.
As for viewing responses, this could cause more arguments about what happened and what didnt. "I never walked past an unided!" Or "I didn't have my T weapon out he's lying plz slay him." Normally if you ask a staff member or the person that killed you. They will tell you why if you really want to know.
As for damage log menu. You could just as easily use print damage log in console to get damage logs. Plus this would cause a LOT of backseat moderating. "Trusted" people would search through the damage logs and fins whatever they think is RDM and ask why they did it. When it is a staff members job to do that and they may have already solved it or working on solving it

 

Ok, let's maybe scratch the viewing responses idea.

What about if "Trusted" can only view it if there are no staff online? It would be way more convenient when reporting on the forums rather than printing the logs. Also, the ttt_print_damagelog option isn't really that convient. We have no way of looking at the logs after the round starts. Idk. I thought it would be a good idea :/

Doesn't sound all that useful. We wouldn't "trust" a regular more than a new player in regards to a report. It's just a misleading title.

+1 to Carned's part. Though, at that point it would probably be more handy to spawn more Advisors among the ranks.

 

Advisor positions are reserved for retired lead admins. Possibly one of the lead admins or advisors, @Event Horizon or @Slicck, could elaborate on the powers the Advisors have. I know that at the time that I was an Advisor, @Highwon had the Advisor power set to the same as trial moderators. I believe now they have a little more power.

I wouldn't mind having a Trusted rank that had the same powers as the trials have; the only difference being a forum rank, as well. This rank should be reserved for retired admins that left on good terms and are still seen on the forums and servers from time to time.

That moment when @MangoTango thinks that @Slicck is still a lead admin.....But yeah, +1 to Mango's and Carned's comments.

 

I wanted a Lead or Advisor's input on the matter. I meant to say lead admins or advisors and tag them. Specifically Slicck since he's the most recent to hold both ranks.

 

I feel we'd be basically useless with Trial powers, essentially we know how to do reports, sometimes better than current staff.
Only difference would be we don't get access to Admin discussion or any bans.

 

Adviser is basically a trusted rank, or tenure mod position. People of this rank are entrusted with the power to view the forums that they could when they had their previous rank, and now they have the ability to slay and ban (they were pretty helpless before they had the ability to do those 2 things). I'd like to think we also still have close to equal sway in terms of our ideas and suggestions to better the server, like we did when we were lead admins.

 

Personally, I find having regular players having the ability to see logs to be very useless. I would rather reserve that benefit for ex-staff members who actually are "trusted" (aka dedicated staff members who have been part of the staff for a very long time and/or ex-admins).

 

Are you trying to say that we can't trust regulars!!!!! WHAT ABOUT ANON, LUCKYPICKLE, and other great regulars that we all "love"
