Below right down the story on how you started gaming. I was just curious on how everyone here began gaming. Make sure to include your age when you began, and what you began with!
Pretty much Nintendo got me into gaming. I started on the N64 ( or it was probably gamecube, vaguely remember which one it was) when i was around 5 or 6 years old. First game was either sonic heroes, super smash bros melee or mario kart 64
My father is a huge comic book nerd and literally has a stack of comic that filled his closet he also loves to play video game his favorite was The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver series. Anyways one day when I was six my dad randomly came home with a PS2 and a copy of GTA Vice City, after he was done playing he let me and my brother play. I've been playing video games ever since then
i started with the original Super nintendo, and the original gameboy. I had pokemon red, yellow, and blue, and on the super nintendo my biggest played games were mega man x, kirby all stars, and street fighter 2. after about 2-3 years the voodoo 2 gpu was released for pc and i got to play the wonders of the original thief, and gpolice. I then owned a ps2, an original xbox (because halo is fucking awesome screw anyone who says otherwise) and had a better pc handed to me that could play games like half life 1 and unreal tournament. after years of playing out those games i finally got a xbox 360( yet again halo...). Then in like 2010 i built this beastly pc i still use today. I used to be alot better at gaming then I am today but a few months ago i had a accident at work where i machine razor sharp knives that can be up to 6 ft long and while i was stoning the blade my hand slipped and chopped off a piece of my right ring finger. Luckily it grew back but it occasionally hurts and pulses to this day and if i put alot of pressure it feels very uncomfortable so it can occasionally throw off my mouse aim a bit.
Ps1 with crash bandicoot. The actual game. Otherwise before that... just no. NOPENOPENOPENOPE the horrors
Me and my neighbors used to play Hero's of Might and Magic III on the PC I got from a different neighbor. We played every day for a couple of years. I don't remember how old I was, but I was pretty young.
Since everyone is giving their story I think I should too lol I was around 4 and I got a gameboy advance (the first frontlit model) and got a copy of Pokemon FireRed. Then I got Ruby. (Not sure if it's the other way around though) then I got a ps2 with a bunch of games like crash bandicoot. But it exploded because it needed a transformer, but the housekeeper plugged it in for some unknown reason. I broke my GBA because I loved it way too much. Whenever I charge it, I unplug it and plug it back 10 times after the light goes off, indicating it was done. It stopped turning on and I stashed it somewhere. Lol
Gamecube. Super Smash Bros. & Legend Of Zelda Collection (Majora's Mask, OOT, And like three other original Zelda games.
Maplestory. that's the only thing I can say. Spoiler: My serious response. Seriously, I started gaming by playing Playstation one, Games played are Warcraft, Spyro, Bugs life and many others.
I started out on the SNES at a friend's place. I would always go there just to play Batman and Robin back in the day. And then one day back in 1999, my dad came to visit (he was living separately from my mom and and myself during the time due to work) with a Nintendo 64 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! If I had to really start out with what got me into gaming, I would say the Nintendo 64 and LoZ: OoT is what got me into gaming. It also instilled a love for the Legend of Zelda series for myself.
