Rejected A rule against where purposly getting killed by another player so that they could be slain

There should be a rule against making a player accidentaly kill you so that they dont get slain because of them. This mostly happens in Community pool, where players would see you jumping down the ladder, and then just stand under you so that you could be slain, or like the explosive barrels, when they are lit, running into them just so that the other gets slain. this rule would make sttt better.

 

How are we supposed to track this? There's no way for staff to differentiate between the intentions of a player, all we have is damage logs.

 

Simple fix;

1. use the ladder don't jump
2. don't shoot barrels and an inno, you don't need to.

 

1. The ladder is meant for going up
2. If you dont shoot the barrels with nobody there, a traitor will kill you with it.

 

Video, images, witnesses

 

1. You can use it both ways.
2. There's not guarantee they will shoot the barrels, you don't have to shoot them, i've never shot them so..

 

Videos, images, and witnesses won't always show the intentions of a player. Some players might not be paying attention to barrels and have their eyes set on a weapon near the barrels, and then walk over to them. Just because someone walks near a barrel on fire does not necessarily mean their intentions are to get someone slain.

As for the ladder, you can SEE the person down there yourself. If it looks like they might walk under you when you jump down, why would you jump? Again, this can also be a situation of lack of attention, where someone just happens to walk under when they plan to go up the ladder themselves. Videos and images are just that, videos and images, they don't clearly show a player's mindset or their intentions.

 

If you see the person stick yourself to the ladder then. Seriously. Learn to use the ladder on community pool.

 

Witnesses can lie.

 

So because of your own carelessness, you would like a rule to be added just so that another player can get in trouble for getting killed by you not being cautious about using a ladder? Or shooting barrels?

 

There's a reason the ladder is there. It's not just for going up.... you can use it to go down. Let's be sensible here. If the water was removed at the bottom in community pool FOR EXAMPLE, then it would be the same as the small passageway in 67th way. Treat the passageway in community pool the same way as you would in 67th way if you know there are players down there. If you jump down there and you see someone there, then that's your unfortunate fault and you shouldn't be surprised to get in trouble anyways. There will be situations where you were already going down and about to land in the water and someone is unfortunate to come right as you land. That's understandable. So what you could do to prevent this from happening is to simply use the ladder since it's only slower by a few seconds.

As for the explosive barrels, you don't need to shoot them either. If you shot an explosive barrel and someone is unfortunate enough to run into it, then that is your fault. As you are aware, staff cannot track everything that occurs. You shouldn't have the kind of mindset like this: "Hey, I see an explosive barrel! I'm gonna blow it up in case the guy behind me decides to shoot it and possibly kill me!" and then blow it up that way. If you do, then you'd get in trouble if someone were to run into that barrel.

Screenshots don't show every piece of evidence and witnesses can be biased. Recording doesn't show the intention of the players and only shows one player's point of view on the matter. Even though it can support your side, it won't show whether or not the player intended to have you RDM them on purpose or not.

 

let me just quickly dot something in, the ladders do not always work according to how you want them to, and im pretty sure that its happened to you too. You try to descened a ladder, but for some reason, you get stuck in the ladder, then fall off of it, mostly seen in the map Dolls and Metropolis. You do have a good point though, if you will, please lock this thread, ty.

 

Ladders work as intended, there's no randomness to them. They simply take a lot of practice to perfect

 

-.- I hate it when I fall down instead of using the ladder because there's no one below me, then at the last second someone walks below me and I goomba them.
