There's not much more that can be said from this.

If you witness harassment, say something. If you say something and nothing is being done, report. If you have no hard evidence or proof, then nothing can come from it without evidence.

We always take measures of harassment seriously, and will try to put them down when we see them.

I understand that for any individual to get called out for not doing something properly, it's very easy to give some reason(excuse) as to why they didn't do something. I have had experience with this and I always get pointed out as a bad guy when I try to call people out for their faults; one of the reasons I feel that my application got so much crap on it. What it appears to the community is that staff are beginning to not care as much, only showing a facade of professionalism toward concerned players when giving the standard excuse that things get so hectic and they're dealing with reports and such. Which, I might add, moderators can only deal with reports when they are dead and if they get too far behind, they should set themselves to spectating until everything can be handled. You must remember that you are a staff member before you are a player and, I know that sometimes reports can seem unmanageable, but they really aren't. I noticed a while ago that the staff needed to step up their game, because it was dropping from where it had been before. And when that happens, the quality of the community's experience here at STTT dwindles into a bad one. Keith that being said, I know the staff realize issues when they arise, but a simple "We understand your concerns and apologize for your bad play experience. We want to do everything we can to help you in this community and will strive to do better" might suffice; this would obviously followed by results.

Borderline, its hardly very targeted, wouldn't call it targeted enough at anyone to warrant much more than a warning.

  7. Like I said I don't have screenshots, I doubt tyrone took any of them when it was towards me

This is the album of all the "harassment"

Firstly you've harassed him by titling it "austism"

    [IMG] < slight harssment
[IMG] < opinion, could be directed at anyone, hardly harassment
    [IMG] < opinion, not harassment
[IMG] < why is this even considered harassment?
[IMG] < not really harassment is it?
    [IMG] < not harassment
[IMG] < putting fucking in front of a word makes it harassment then sheesh

and you guys apparently gave him even worst so who's really harassing here?

Some of Tyrone's screenshots are definitely harassment and definitely should have been dealt with. Remember, if you witness harassment, take screenshots. We cannot conduct protocol without evidence (even if there are 10 witnesses, however at that point I'd still message the player warning him not to harass so the next time he does it he can be kicked) or even record your gameplay if you can/have to. The biggest hurdle of harassment is that often times, messages that appear to be harassment might be friends trash talking each other, so unless the messages are severe (racism, etc) I probably won't do anything unless players notify me that they are being offended. Obviously I use common sense to help myself to know when it's harassment and not just 2 friends trash talking, but that line isn't always clear.

Your suggestion has been acknowledged and I will work with the staff so that they too are aware of this and how they can be better at detecting and handling harassment.

[IMG] < harssment. Would warn at the sight of seeing that.
[IMG] < opinion, in the context of previous and further messages, could be aiding harassment
[IMG] < opinion, harassment if I was notified that anyone was offended
[IMG] < Not exactly harassment, but in context it could be considered spam
    [IMG] < harassment
    [IMG] < not harassment
    [IMG] < harassment

Seems to me that the problem is a miscommunication/misunderstanding between staff. Harassment needs clear cut rules. just because a staff member would not be offended by something like "I don't trust foreigners!", doesn't mean someone who has dealt with discrimination all their life due to their ethnicity wouldn't be offended. Even the VIP thing could be harassment if the person kept using it as an insult like that.

I had talked to some of my team members after this thread had started, and we had agreed that the idea should be that: Regardless of how you feel personally about something, if someone else speaks up about feeling hurt, you should do something about it. This is something I've implemented personally in my staffing, and it was what I was taught as well when I was in my trial phase.

Anyhow, I think the best way to go about stuff like this is to call out to a staff member online that you are feeling harassed. When you let us know, that makes us aware that something that we may not find offensive IS offensive to you. We will then take appropriate action and give out warnings when needed.

This is actually part of the discussion I had between several staff members earlier, and I more or less said exactly what you said. @Darktooth was there as well.

Not the first time i have experienced this, but really, if I'm offended by the person words, the staff should take action once I felt uncomfortable with the harrassment.

back to the topic at hand
There is ALOT of harassment that goes on during late night rounds.
There would be that one person who comes on with a bad attitude and since no one is there to handle it some people feel like they should do it to and I find that Unacceptable and I wont have it anymore.
Fix this issue has soon has you can thank you.

  16. It's not really that easy, you can't "fix" that bad mannored assholes join the server and harasses people, that's not something we control.
However, getting more night mods is a solution, we are on a shortage right now.
I would love to help but I'm not in a position to do so.

  17. This issue is not only with night mods. Its all day. I still see staff letting harassment by. You can resolve the problem by getting staff who know how to do their job.
