Well, thread name sort of gives it away but the idea is,

for both Traitors and Detectives, they could have a motion sensor, similar to the trip mine 'cept it doesn't explode, just tells the T/D that it has been tripped.

So long as it doesn't say who tripped it, I am fine with it. Too many people would place it right at the T room doors to tell them who is going in.

Didn't think of it that way, yeah. But also didn't think of it telling them who tripped it either. Am quite proud of the idea xD

Eh, we already have radar, and you can simply listen for footsteps if you want to know if someone is getting close. If you want to know who's going into the T room, radar is great for that.

If it's possible, you can ask the inventor of tripmine, and ask them to make a version of tripwires.

-1 this is pointless, you could just buy a radar, and the mines could be abusive, by players constantly walking by it just to annoy the detective.

Then that can be KOSable if you continue to trigger the mine. And radar wont be as good in certain situations, example. Imagine you're in a hallway sniping through a window, and you want to know if someone opens the door. Instead of having to wait 30 seconds at a time to know if someone is near. And you'd have to keep looking around. The mine would simply say, 'Your motion sensor has been tripped!'

    - you can upgrade your radar so its around 15 seconds, not 30.

It makes it easy for T's to camping in a room and put a motion sensor in the hallway. Meh

The only advantage it will give the T's in that scenario is they will know someone is coming. It won't give them any other bonuses other than being able to prepare. It could make the game more interesting. Besides, I am currently talking to the creator of the tripmine, and literally moments ago told him the concept for the trip wire

The creator of the tripmine is now looking into the concept of the tripwire. He will keep me updated on his decisions as he hasn't had much time to program lately

I personally like the idea. The radar is helpful yes but sometimes depth perception is hard and if the tripwire was placed you would remember where you placed it and be able to know exactly where they are. It would be very situational. If you put it in an area where T's go but innocents can also go it could spam the detective/traitor. However if you place it right it could be very helpful. +1
