if you believe you are addicted or not. If you smoke weed 3-4 times a week you ARE addicted. Just as someone who gets drunk 3-4 times a week is an alcoholic. You may not have a chemical dependence, but you're addicted to the feeling you get from it. Know your shit, and don't smoke weed. It's illegal in most places. If I were a cop and caught anyone with weed, they'd have their ass under arrest for possession of drugs. Also, my neighbor sells weed and smokes all the time.

Amen brother, people who smoke pot should be given maximum penalty, give those god damn bastard's the death penalty. We should remove the law on tobbacco though and force children to start smoking at an early age, that way we can get em hooked and keep our great and powerful government rich and in power! Your mass knowledge of society and the usage of drugs is also amazing, you yourself should become an officer of the law as you'd make someone with a great sense of judgement, I'm suprised they diden't let you become a mod with your vass horizon on it all.

Weed is like a paint wheel; different varieties with different effects. Not everyone likes the same effects. I can honestly say that I smoke weed on a one to two week basis and have noticed no changes in my cardiovascular endurance, mental "fog", or my grades. The entire effect of weed on people is that people will call you a "stoner" or a "pot head".

Your body is a temple... and as a temple, you must do your best to keep it clean from all bad substances... including Federal Illegal Substances.

Lol at that outdated government page. The reasons weed remain illegal are almost solely ignorance and politics. People read outdated, government funded information because, guess what? It is almost impossible to get federal permission to conduct studies on MJ.

It's halarious if you do your research on weed; weed was legal in the early 1900's as it was the number one crop and was used for basically everything. The only reason it became illegal is because the government was scared of it. The government didn't know how to handle it and of course NOBODY was asking if it had ANY madicinal values.

This comment killed more braincells in my head than the four years of smoking weed. THAT IS NOT ADDICTION! The definition of addiction from the Webster dictionary is a strong and harmful need to regularly have something (such as a drug) or do something (such as gamble). Just because you smoke several times a week is NOT an addiction because with weed you can stop if you want. Like i said in a previous post then yes, it is POSSIBLE but it ia not even a 1/10000 chance for weed to actually become addictive. Also to comment on your extremely biased POV if you do research on weed there is no harmful substances in it and is no more a drug than alcohol or tobacco and with your other post on "tobacco should be legalized to" is dumb as well being as tobacco in itself isn't that bad. Its CIGARETTES that are bad because of all the added chemicals. Granted tobacco does have some harmful substances in it naturally but not many.

Please do your research before coming up with a biased opinion

I think it's different for everyone. it can have good side effects but bad side effects on different people. I've tried it a while and don't see anything wrong with it (other than the feeling after being high... ) But I have bad asthma and after my second time of smoking it hasn't been as bad. But yeah. People often compare how bad it is with alcohol, and I will smoke a joint over drink alcohol anyday.

You cant get addicted to weed but i think you can get addicted to THC I cant smoke the stuff and I choose to never smoke it just cause i don't want to. I live in Washington so just about everyone smokes. I have seen people go pretty low just the get the stuff though which kinda sucks it can change people.

No THC isn't addictive and if you have seen people downward spiral than that's their incompetence to function if they feel stoned.

Sorry but i have to disagree with you. Anything that alters reality and changes the chemicals in your brain can become addicting. Even if it's not physically addicting, your brain becomes addicted to those changes. I used to use weed a lot to medicate myself due to stress and depression. I liked the altered state of perception that it produced, separating me from the real world, helping me not worry about stress. Eventually, every time anything sad or bad happened to me, I'd have to light up, or my day would be the shittiest. EVERYTHING can become addictive, it depends how and WHY you are using it. If you are using ANYTHING to escape reality so you don't have to deal with your problems, it's likely that you can become addicted to it. Luckily i dropped some acid and had a life changing experience where i decided to cut weed, cigarettes, and all other recreational drugs out of my life (havent looked back since, using partying and drugs to medicate yourself can only lead down a terrible path that nobody wants to go to). It's different for every person. Just because someone smokes every day, doesn't mean they are addicted. But you can't say they aren't for sure, unless you know them very very well and know what's going on inside their brain. I had a friend who smoked weed with me every day and went on tour for a month with his band. When he came back, the first thing he said to me was "i need some weed". He didn't say "i want some weed", he said he needed it. He became really agitated when he couldn't find any weed. Addiction? possibly. Things that you do habitually can become addicting, even if they arent physically addicting. its the same reason people get addicted to shopping/gambling/porn/sex/food, it's all an escape method.

Like i said. It is POSSIBLE to become addicted but weed in itself isn't what you were addicted to. As you said It was your perception of what the effects were, not weed.

Every drug has a negative effect as well with positive.
Weed is no different but what I noticed is Weed's pros OUTWEIGH the cons.

But smoking weed underage does have a lot of negative effects, like drinking alcohol underage.
It disrupts the growth of a brain and can cause issues. Such as bad memory, lowered IQ and such.

The thing causing the altered state of perception is weed though.. If you are addicted to the feeling tht gambling gives you, you're addicted to gambling. If you are addicted to the high that marijuana gives you, you're addicted to marijuana. I'm not anti-Marijuana, it's a wonderful thing. I'm just against people using recreational drugs to medicate themselves. I don't want this post to come off as "anti-pot", and I understand your viewpoint killa.
