So for a while I've wondered stuff like who has the most hours across the servers, and the best I could do is check lots of random adminstats and look at the leaderboards on gametracker, but maybe it would be nice if there were official leaderboards that show these stats. We could have leaderboards for each server plus a leaderboard for all servers with categories like most kills, most hours, best k/d, most T rounds, etc. Thoughts?
I would like to point out once you create a ranking system the server will become more competitive which is fine but it will change the atmosphere of the server. This will remain true even if you think in your mind "No way, I just think it would be really cool to see my stats and how I compare with friends." We are competitive by nature and it is inevitable. Nothing wrong with this mind you, its just a caveat that i have seen remain true throughout many situations.
However, if we also keep track of teamkills, it could give incentive for those trolls who use any reason to kill anyone to play more like an actual innocent.
There are pros and cons to adding it. Its just important that you realize the effect it will have on the server before you add something like that.
It'd be nice to have a leaderboard that I actually have a chance in and it be another good way to encourage new players to stay on the server to make their way to the top and maybe every once and a while reset the leaderboards? So new players actually have a chance to get to the top
