So the definition of ghosting is telling a living player of in game events that they dont already know about. So i was just wondering if telling people map details is ghosting, EX. Is there a tester on this map? Don to You: yes there is a tester on this map. would that be considered ghosting becausse technicly its a dead person telling a living person about something in game.
This wouldn't be considered Ghosting. Ghosting is if you're giving information that can change the outcome of a game. So if you're telling someone to check the chat for the kos while he's dead and you're alive, then that's considered ghosting. If a player tells you who killed him through any third party chat and you're alive, then that's ghosting as well. Read the server rules for more information. But as far as your question goes, it is not ghosting to inform someone that there's a traitor tester in the map considering that it really wouldn't change the flow of the game.
OK, I should rephrase that because it sounds wrong. Now, if anyone asks if there's a kos on someone and then someone who's dead tells you (alive) to check the chat for the kos, then that is ghosting.
Correct. The first way sounded like you (alive) telling anyone to scroll up in chat about a dead person.
A good way to make it easier. Talking about server rules is not ghosting. Talking about parts of the map is not ghosting. Talking about someones habits when they play the game isn't ghosting (unless you do it in a way to imply something about what that person is right now). It's only ghosting if you talk about something that only applies to that particular round.
That would be considered ghosting. Since dead players are out of play and aren't supposed to be able to help living players. What if a traitor lies about being tested on a map without tester? Or with the new found knowledge of a tester, someone could turn the game around by making players to test. To be safe, it's best to not whisper living players.
Seeing as this is a good thread to ask. if i were to hypothetically pm someone and say "read the chat log" is that a ghosting related incident? I can see it being counted both ways, just wondering what you guys opinion is on this matter
true, probably giving too much information to the person alive. if they miss it then it is their loss. Ever so often i make sure to scan back through the text when im safe to check for lone callouts
Just don't message anything to anyone alive, you can easily misjudge what you are going to say.... happened to me on Saturday :/
anything that you have to say, you can wait until they are dead . the only thing that i say when i whisper living people is directly after a traitor kills me, and i whisper them saying "listen here u little shit"
