Do you know what an "Experiment" is? Let's take him as being 100% serious, did he say "You need to inject yourself with lysol to protect yourself from the virus"? I heard after each sentence something along the lines of "You're doing tests for that right? it be interesting to test it" such as what you do with experiments.

Just as vaccines are being tested daily to find one that works, you aren't running around checking every needle you find for some vaccine to inject into yourself are you? Also note how he said "Medical doctors" not "Average joe"

Oh and Nuclear power is some of the cleanest energies we have, you should do some tests in your house with it to see if you can make it even cleaner and efficient.

 

What does the news agency have to do with it? If you watch the video, Trump says how well he saw how well a disinfectant was at neutralizing the virus and then suggests/asks "is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning." So the title could be misleading if you take it as Trump telling the American people to inject themselves with disinfectants, but he is still dumb enough to not know you cannot inject someone with disinfectant to treat coronavirus.

 

He's more or less referring to some of the actual experiments being tested and then interjects with a dumb idea. It's not as big as the headline, but still dumb nonetheless.

Edit: Fair enough. He has still downplayed the seriousness of this virus, leading to the indirect deaths of thousands of Americans.

 

Sure it's dumb, but he's not telling anyone to inject lysol lol, hes not a doctor, hence why he says "You have medical doctors for that type of stuff" as in "It does wonders on the outside so it' be cool if it do the same for the inside, but I'm not the doctor here"

 

Because news agencies tend to leave out parts. No context can lead to mixed messages.

Hey, so @Grumble , @Biden2020 . and @Minnesota_Hic . I really don't check in on this thread much and I am overall still pretty new to this community. So, I assume all three of you are conservative and voting for Trump. Would you agree? Like, how do you define your political views?

On top of that, I wanted to ask you all your opinions on Trump's (1) response to coronavirus, his (2) overall rejection of science/ scientific illiteracy, and (3) I guess why you even support him to begin with? I could get into a lot more stuff and bring up way more things I dislike him for or disagree with him on, but I am mainly curious to see your answers and views to get an idea of where you all are at politically?

 

Being new doesn't excuse you from not reading this thread to figure out what has been talked about.

 

I have gone through a decent amount of this thread. I don't really recall seeing any outright views on the the first two questions I wanted to know. If you have, I can go through it again.
