    Reason For Report:
Moderator degolfer222 slayed me and publicly accused me of toxicity. It is quite humiliating when playing an online video game to be publicly slandered by a figure of authority, which is going to affect how I view staff in the future.

Here is what happened; although I got slayed on 67th highway, the initial incident sparking this accusation and slay happened a few rounds prior, on innocent motel. In the first seconds of the round, I was AFK for ~30 seconds. When I got back to my keyboard, I had been damaged by an incendiary grenade for about half of my total HP, if not more. My first reaction was to exit the incendiary area of effect, but since I was a bit annoyed, and thought that the round was over for me anyway, I went back to the incendiary to die and waited for the following round - hoping in the meantime that it would leave evidence to who killed me (or at least attempted to if we omit the suicide part).

Now it turned out the person that threw the incendiary at me when I was away was an innocent, so I naturally reported them for throwing an incendiary at an innocent - and even if I had not died, I would have reported them for causing damage to me, so my death there is not very relevant to the RDM situation that caused me to report that person.

Now I believe the person got slain for RDMing, I really didn't pay much attention to it, but on the following map, 67th highway, I got slain for the following reason: 'Toxic gameplay. Do not walk into incends on purpose'.

However, I had NOT walked into the incendiary on purpose, I was afk and it got thrown at me. At this point, I was slain without even having the opportunity to explain what happened to degolfer222, he just assumed it was toxic behavior and slayed me for this.

This behavior is unacceptable from a moderator, he should have first seen from the replay that the incendiary had been thrown at me when I was not even moving, and then if he suspected that the fact I went back to die was toxic (which I don't understand why it would be, it is my decision to commit suicide or not), he should have at least talked to be about it privately before slaying me for it.

I am attaching a copy of our discussion to the next box, as well as a screenshot of my console at the time.

Hey Teeku - I want to point out that earlier today I did warn you for toxic gameplay as seen with this screenshot

This was for blocking ppl in the trap on 67th Way

As seen you were blocking people from exiting the water trap on 67th Way on 2 occasions - which is toxic behavior

Alright, lets get into this, shall we?

So, im gonna start off with the report.

So the first thing I noticed was just how many ticks of damage you took, which prompted me to check the deathscene

So the deathscene does not show the fire from the incend, however the place you died is about where it was at. I watched this, and saw you walk out of an incend, and then right back in. I know that walking into incends on purpose can be grounds for toxic gameplay punishment, so I brought it up to the admins, where Ashes gave me discretion to slay and warn you for toxic gameplay.

After that, you already posted the entirety of the conversation we had, so theres no reason for me to repost it.

And that sums it up. I can't really think of anything else to add, so I'll leave the rest of this up to the higher ups.

    - On the first scene, one can obviously see we were two people the other side of the trap room trying to get through, the person blocked could have easily gone around and exited the other side.
    - On the second scene, adamjonez was blocking the trap room and once it got unblocked we see I just went through.

Edit: Thanks for bringing that up though, I had totally missed your PM - I'll be more careful about that room in the future, it was really not my intent to block them to be toxic there.

That would make sense and be toxic gameplay if I had gone into the flames before getting hit for the sole purpose of reporting someone - the order of events is important, I got hit by an incendiary first, which is what prompted the report, not the subsequent death, which was intentional.

Right so I'll just add my point here.
So I gave discretion to degolfer for the slay for Toxicity. I'll address it by addressing a couple things here.

Under normal circumstances, just plainly walking into an incendiary grenade/fire is pretty toxic. While events/situation can vary, I deemed this toxic specifically this part:

If you simply just backed away and reported them normally for the attempted RDM, we would not be in this situation. You also could have asked staff to check logs and determine who threw it and report it.

You went out of your way to go back in (which you admitted to) and die by the fire which further hurts the other player's karma.

A simple report and us slaying would have sufficed. The extra karma loss they took because of your actions is excessive.

As ashes has already stated there was many ways you could of handles this, Its important to remember moderators are not allow to use digression in alot of areas due to this they come to admins with evidence and the admin makes the decision add in the fact the degolfer handle this situation very well i see no reason to mark this report as valid.

    Thank you for reporting.

I actually had not thought about the karma loss, which is a fair point - but should I remind you that an innocent threw an incendiary at an afk person, what if I had been afk for a few more seconds, I would have been dead, which apparently was the intent of the innocent initially launching the incendiary as they obviously knew I was standing at one spot and not moving?

And no one mentions the fact that there was absolutely no conversation between the moderator and I, which would seem fair in any situation as I would have the opportunity to explain my behavior. How can one judge someone's behavior is toxic if they do not hear what they have to say? At least please make it mandatory to have a conversation between the moderator and the supposedly toxic player, you have the tools to allow this, and it would make such sanctions feel much less arbitrary. Labeling a player as toxic in front of everyone, especially when they didn't intend to commit toxic acts - which you do not know if you haven't talked to the player -, can be quite humiliating.

NB: This is my last message on this thread, hopefully I and others will just forget about this incident quick enough and move on.
