Recently i have had an incident where i was just walking near people with explosive barrel, and someone shoots it, a mod slayed me twice for merely carrying the barrel around.
So the question is : Is following people with an explosive barrel a slay-able offence.

  2. No it is not, carrying the barrel into a crowd and someone explodes it is a slayable offence.

Correction: carrying an explosive barrel towards other players is considered a traitorous act and you can be killed for it. However, whoever shoots the barrel is the one responsible for anything that can happen.

Who was the mod who slayed you?

    I slayed him.

This is the clarification the admins gave for explosive barrels last I checked:

If you are carrying an explosive barrel into a group of people, and a T shoots the barrel, the T is credited with all kills.

If you are carrying an explosive barrel into a group of people, and an inno SHOOTS THE BARREL ONLY, the inno who shot it is responsible for all RDMs.

If you are carrying an explosive barrel into a group of people, and an inno SHOOTS AT YOU BUT HITS THE BARREL BY ACCIDENT, then YOU are responsible for all RDMs.

Metallic falls into the 3rd group. He carried the barrel (and this is the second time he did it in 2 rounds) into a group of players, an inno tried to shoot him, he turned towards the inno and the barrel blew up, killing 1 player and severely damaging another. Therefore, Metallic is responsible for 2 counts of RDM.

It causes a mass RDM spree. I can see that happening, but I think it would be better to have a decision from the higher ups first.

It also depends on the viewpoint of the player too. That's the problem.

i wasnt gonna say his name but he came forward him self... Now i dont know who to believe, im inclined to agree with guilty because in motd it just states that it is a t act, just like walking past an unid, but you cant slay an inno that killed another inno for walking past an unid, so how can u slay an inno for following another inno with a barrel. (sry for all the "inno")

BTW what do u mean by "last time you checked"

In this incident, i admit that i was messing around a bit. And this is just a discussion not a post to blame anyone.

Carrying an explosive barrel towards players is traitorous.

If a player intentionally shoots the barrel and not the person carrying it, then the person that shot it is responsible and slain.

If a person accidentally shoots it whilst killing the carrier, and it damages people, then the carrier is held responsible and slain.

The way we can investigate these events is by looking at the damage info to see the shots from the shooter. Do they shoot the person before the barrel? Do they make more than one shot? Are some of the shots before the barrel explodes and are there some after? If yes to those questions, the shooter was most likely shooting the carrier and not the barrel. It's always good to ask, though.

Addendum: If you are intentionally trying to lower player's karma multiple times by trolling and such, you can be banned for it. This server does not take trolling lightly.
