Coverage has been and always will be a problem with a volunteer position. I guess a real suggestion would be for the staff to have an actual weekly schedule that they try to adhere to, real life comes first but they could be tied to watching the server for an hour rather than playing another game. I don't know if there's any free software but something that allows people to select when they are available and switch shifts etc would be grand, something flexible enough to not be like an actual job but still be a tool for increasing coverage.
Guys, let's face it. The server is only gonna grow if we unban Snak and Magafe, make them lead and have the staff team be run by them.
I'm saying that if we had a minimum hour requirement like the good old days (when we could fill 4 servers on a tuesday night) then maybe it would weed out the mods who have no business being mods. If you don't think SGM has too many mods for the size of it's playerbase then I really don't know what to tell ya. maybe it was reverse psychology. 200 iq plays.
Holy shit, 40 is a bit much. That'd be just under 3 hours a day if you were to play every day. I think 15 hours is fine for the time being, but it should be enforced stronger. To my knowledge, it's hardly enforced. Any admins feel free to correct me. This was just how I saw it when I was mod.
Tbh it is kinda ridiculous we have 40 staff, and I only ever see 8 of them playing. And that half the time I'm playing, there are no staff on.
Back when I was a mod in like 2016 I had 2 separate admins that required 40 hours bi-weekly. 35 if they decided to give us a little break. Granted this is when we had 7 servers that were pretty densely populated throughout the day so this made sense. It makes sense that with multiple servers being pulled, the hour requirement would go down as well. Whenever I'm on unless it's way late at night, there are usually staff members online. Just wish modded was popular again. A lot of the regulars there seem to have just up and left since that time.
We definitely were, I remember that. Kinda miss that era in some ways with gameplay and regulars, but also don't miss the cliquey bullshit that went on a lot of the time.
NGL I don't understand either, we have enough staff to have pretty much minimum 3 staff on at all time, but instead "No mods no rules"
