Why wouldn't staff be obligated to alert a user on why their post was denied? Lordy literally says "This is done to prevent the spread of misinformation, and stop the threads becoming conversations and debates instead of concise and correct answers." Wouldn't we want to correct the initial poster of incorrect information directly, to ensure they have the correct information?
the denial of their post and a more informative post being approved should serve as education , Q&A's are meant to be clean and concise so its illogical to approve a wrong answer just to correct it
Read it carefully. The initial poster of the incorrect information. AKA the person saying the wrong answer. Why are we just deleting their post instead of giving them an alert/message like warning points that their information is invalid? Seems like a stupid way of keeping people uninformed.
Warning someone for answering a question wrong is a bit excessive. A DM about it could help, but usually if their post is denied they can see the correct answer somewhere else in the thread after it's answered.
To Denied posts: "He meant , no actually warning them. When denying an answer, you are given the option to notify the user why if I'm not wrong" - When denying an answer we are not given an option to notify the user of their answer being denied, we only have that type of thing for deleting comments. "It still seems extremely lazy to deny the post without giving the poster any information. If you know enough to deny it, you should know enough to give them a correction." - if your post was denied the forum rules already explain why it was denied, as well as you can see the correct answer in the thread. Just from that you should already know why your reply to the QnA was denied. Having to hit up a conversation that wont be autogenerated, whenever we denie a reply, will just be a lot of doublework, for something you can gather from the thread itself. Sure a DM wouldnt hurt, but making it protocol to DM a player whenever we denie their reply is a no no.
