Discussion:Why are ex staff so toxic?

Staff spent time locked into only being polite and doing good things once they get the freedom to act how they like they will just do the opposite since they want to experience it for the first time in a while.

 

All ex staff will have different personalities depending on how they’re feeling about the state of the servers and then some.We can’t assume that every ex staff would start having a toxic behavior because that would be merely judging a book by its cover.

"Toxic" is a loosely defined term here. What exactly makes them toxic?

Personally, I haven't seen any staff or ex-staff who are that toxic in game, at least compared to how toxic other gmod servers can be. I think it comes down to pure personality rather than not having to follow a specific set of rules.

 

its a combination of virgin rage, the realization that they spent their young adulthood (or even worse, teenagehood) moderating fourms and games, and just in general being a failure

That awkward moment when Bad Adult has Woet falsify a screenshot to get skateass' ban appeal denied. Now he's banned for 4 weeks on vanilla and also banned on the forums after reporting Bad Adult multiple times for faking evidence. When things like this happen, it really makes me think: "Gee, why does the player count seem to keep decreasing over time? Why aren't West and East 2 open anymore? It certainly can't be because of shitty staff members abusing their powers to get what's right for them. It also can't be because of a surplus of bias to make sure that VIP and other staff members are always in trouble."

Are you saying that vip's get a free pass when they break the rules? Because that is absolutely not true. I have been slain for every rdm I committed, accidental or on purpose. I gave zero fucks about a players rank when I slayed or banned them, there is just no reason to care. The staff are not getting paid to do anything. So shut up

Well, on the forums whenever I talk shit, I get forum banned. However, when some asshole VIP member says something back to me, even when it's worse at times, they get no repercussion what so ever.
