I'm not to big a fan of when folks say the United States needs the Scandinavian form of socialism. While their shit may work for them, the United States is a vastly different culture and people. My state alone is larger than most countries, this nation contains a variety of different people with completely different needs. If a particular state, like California, decides they want to do a lot more socialist stuff, they're gonna do it. Now.... California is one of the most expensive places to live in this country, and handle shit real weird. Like, they banned plastic straws, when the majority of plastic waste comes from the medical field and single-use plastic packages (like what your food is stored in and shit), straws hardly contribute as much. So California is a big reason I personally don't believe a nationwide socialist reform would ever prove useful for this country.
In America we hate communism, simple as that. We've fought against communism since it's creation, and for pretty good reason! Under Stalin's iron fist, more people died of starvation than Jews died in the holocaust. Under Mao Zedong in China, millions of people starved to death, and today we still see China's bullshit communist regime fucking their people on the daily. In Hong Kong, folks can't leave the house without masking up because they'll get beaten to death by the police. Very recently, Russia (Which calls itself Democratic, but has had the same president for way too long to be Democratic lmao, it's still communist shit) invaded the Ukraine as the world stood still and watched. In Venezuela, the economy has completely collapsed and, again, people are starving. There's a very well founded reason to hate on communism, far beyond just propaganda from the Cold War. Even then, that propaganda isn't unfounded. We went to Korea to contain communism, and we actually did do something there - we stopped the pesky communist regime of the North from spreading to the South - now South Korea has a booming economy and contributes greatly on the world stage, while the people in the North starve because their communist dictator can't get over himself. We went to Vietnam, and I mean ok we failed at that one pretty bad, fair enough.

But yeah next time someone says "Americans hate communism because of dumb american cold war propaganda" think again.

One thing American's tend to not know is how communism is actually supposed to work. We mostly just eyed out the Stalinized "Communism" or the Zedong "Communism". We mostly just saw it's failure and attempts to work but human greed always destroyed the "communism" that country attempted. Social democracy that places like Norway and Finland have worked could maybe work in the US if more American's understand what's happening. Coincidentally place's with high Nordic populations like my state of Minnesota have had some of these idea's work and also support these idea's. Ah here we go with the Russified area's issues with Ukraine. The areas that Russia "Invaded" are very much high in native Russians culturally and linguistically. Most of them wish to join back to Russia but mostly the west has prevented this over the minority Ukrainian politicians who refuse to give up the land.

Human greed will always destroy any form of government. History has proven that time and again, with every world power that has risen and fallen.

The Russian people love Putin to the point that they trust him with such a thing, his ratings are 80% at the moment.

I'm not sure about that, but people sided with Hitler during his rise to power as well. Just because the country approves, doesn't mean a dictatorship isn't forming. The guy has been gunning to keep power for so long. I'm not saying he's the next Hitler, I'm just using Hitler's rise to power as an example.
Also Putin has been persecuting people who don't agree with everything he says, or are neutral on the government rulings. Bu labeling them as terrorists.

But considering the NK is brainwashing their citizens and letting them starve, how is that not bad? I know the U.S. and other countries limited trade and all that jargon with them, but still.

    Uh...

You literally fell for the propaganda lol. When you start saying "Americans hate communism, simple as that" you are being a little too general. You recognize that there are still people in this country who fight for communism? You know there are still people who are Nazis? You can't on one hand say "well America can't have good healthcare because we are so different and cant agree on anything" to then turn around and say "But communism? No. We all hate that." Look, I wont lie to you, Medicare for all is ambitious. I'm not so sure it would work out right away, but to say "let's not even try" is the most un-american thing I have ever heard in my life. Who went to the moon? Who defeated the Japanese and the Nazis? Who has overthrown more countries than any other? This is America, and we can do anything we set our minds to. If it outright fails then we can scrap it for something better. Trust me man, if an authoritarian government were to take hold in this country, either a communist or a facist, I would be one of the first people calling for democracy to return. I'd easily devote my body to the cause, and take up arms against the oppressors, but honestly? I don't think Bernie sanders is going to be the one to bring about the marxist revolution. The guy isn't even a true socialist.

All i'm saying is, Medicare for all will benefit everyone. Not just those who live in California, but those who live in the Midwest, the west, the east, the south, and the most backwood corners of Alaska. Twenty seven million Americans will automatically be covered by Medicare for all, and they will be covered well. Bernie's plan is far more ambitious than the rest of the world's. I personally think that, and this is just my personal opinion, America will only have a chance of becoming the best country in the world if we are able to step up on our social programs here at home. The American people aren't being looked after because our government would rather bomb little brown children in Yemen and Somalia.

Personally? I'm voting blue no matter who. Trump is destabilizing our country.

What do you expect from someone whose from the KGB and is one of the old fucks from the Kremlin that believes the Cold War is still going on despite the fact the USSR has been dead for nearly thirty years.
    No argument there.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but allow me to retort: Russia is NOT a liberal country. In fact here are the reasons why:
    1. Their record on LGBTQ rights has been horrendous, despite the fact that same-sex activities aren't exactly illegal they are extremely frowned upon and there aren't any anti-discrimination laws that protect them from hate crimes or worse. Also, may I also point out that they did NOTHING to stop Chechnya from imprisoning, torturing and/or killing members of the LGBTQ communities there.
    2. As @Davy Jones has said, the Russian government has done whatever it takes to put down any opposition by either labeling them as terrorists or extremists. Anyone remember what they've done to Alexei Navalny? As well as their involvement with a family in Salisbury being poisoned with Novichok?
    3. Russia has continued to support authoritarian governments and causes for their own benefits. One important example is Al-Assad and his government in Syria which has not only been responsible for killing thousands of civilians but also displacing thousands more of them to nearby countries including some of the ones who have taken refuge in Europe.
You just proved my point about people conflating socialism with communism, dude. Unless you're trolling in which case I just want to tell everyone to ignore the peanut gallery.
