Finished Some Good Things

    It is a good time, mostly
    • This is the second year in a row my depression, seasonal or otherwise, has stayed low if been there at all
    • I got into my desired uni doing a course I love despite great anxiety and the odds
    • I found love in an amazing human who needs to accept they are amazing
    • I got my first job
    • Spoke to my bio dad for the first time in 7 years and caught up and got along
    • It's been a year since I first joined the staff team and I feel and see that I've grown, developed and helped, and have enjoyed it thoroughly
    • I've made friends with some amazing people, both online and irl, feeling less lonely than I have in while despite living hundreds of km from home.
    • There have been breakthroughs in Cystic Fibrosis, Autism, Astrophotography research
    • Rates of child mortality are still declining, along with most metrics of suffering
    • Species of Pandas, other bears, Kiwis and wolves are no longer endangered
    • And so much more
    It's also important to remember there has been a lot of unfortunate, saddening, or just plain disappointing things this year, but what good is light without dark.

    So, to spread the love imma do a giveaway, and a competition to keep it spicy:

    Elite - To enter, rate anything and, for an extra entry, comment something positive that happened to you or someone close to you this year.

    VIP - Enter for someone else who doesn't have the rank and give a reason why they deserve it or otherwise is a good person, most rated gets the prize (Rates stacked across multiple tags and any contention goes down to random).


    Finish date: ~1st January sobriety allowing.

    PS. Posting a funny or interesting video appreciated

    For the Elite: My mom recently underwent successful cataract surgery on her left eye, and it has vastly improved her vision in that eye.

    For the VIP: I'd like to have @creatorofchaos get the VIP, because she's a very regular person on SGM servers, and very friendly on top of that.

    @Lordyhgm : If I were to win the Elite prize, could I possibly get VIP instead? I ask because I'd prefer to have the permanent rank if at all possible.

    I've been stuck in a dark place for the past three (almost four) years. It's been hard, and it only gets more hard. I'm so miserable that I talk about my death and meaningless casually because I have practically nothing else to talk about.

    Although I lost a lot of friends this year, I also met eight people who have come to mean more than the world to me. One of them has actually saved my life, and I've had to save one of theirs.

    Emotional stuff aside, I'm three months clean, I don't smoke anymore and I've been getting healthier, so that's good I guess.
