Hey guys! This is an updated version of the rules, please have a look over it and comment if you find any problems. You will find this version is more clarified. EDIT: This is just a suggestion as of right now. The old extended rules are still in effect until these new ones are cleared for use. I noticed some confusion, I should have made that clear from the get go.
--------------------------------------------------------------- See TTT RULES for general punishment guidance. --------------------------------------------------------------- 1. RANDOM DEATHMATCH (RDM) 1. RDM is the act of Damaging or causing damage to another player by any means without a valid reason, even if they allowed you to. 2. If you leave before serving all of your slays you will be banned for RDM and Leave 3. You may leave if there is no staff online. WHAT YOU CAN KILL/DAMAGE FOR: - Traitorous acts. - Guilt by Association. - DNA that YOU collected from an innocent, detective, or T object. - Detective arming C4. WHAT YOU CANNOT KILL/DAMAGE FOR: - Suspicion. - Being near a traitor item. - Refusing to test. - Entering a claimed area. 2. SPAM, HARASSMENT, and FALSE REPORTING 1. Spam is irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent (by any means) repeatedly. 2. Simply "feeling offended" does not guarantee punishment when it comes to harassment. EXAMPLES OF HARASSMENT: - Aggressive pressure or intimidation. - Targeted racial or group based slurs. - Targeting players by any means. - Prop blocking or blocking in general (if it is intentional). - Intentionally sending false reports (repeatedly). 3. GHOSTING 1. Ghosting is the act of providing current-round-related, game-influencing information to an alive player, or players, through means of communications other than world or team chat. 2. False or misleading information may still be considered ghosting if it affects the round. 3. Streams must be set to a 5 minute delay. Can be longer than this, but not shorter. EXAMPLES OF GHOSTING: - Telling alive players who the traitors are. - Sending any message that has potential to influence the current round. - Informing staff members that the last T is AFK is NOT ghosting. 4. HACKING, MACRO USE, and EXPLOITING 1. Macros are keybinds that are linked together to perform specific actions on a single keypress. 2. Hacking is the act of using third party programs or scripts to give yourself significant advantages. 3. An exploit is a bug or unintended feature of gameplay that is deliberately and knowingly used by the player to gain an advantage. EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU MAY NOT USE: - Macros or Addons that give the player significant advantages over others (handled on a case by case basis. If you aren't sure, ask an admin) - Any kind of third party modification that grants the player the ability to aimbot, wallhack, or bhop hack. - Any exploit in the game's code (punishment may depend on the exploit itself) 5. BAN EVASION, and ALTERNATE ACCOUNT USAGE 1. Ban Evasion is the act of using alternative accounts to avoid bans. 2. It is against the rules to play on SGM servers with multiple accounts/aliases at the same time. 6. PORN, GORE, and DISTURBING CONTENT 1. Porn is any image/video depicting sexual activity, nudity, sex toys/objects, or sexual substances. 2. Gore is any image/video that depicts Blood, cut body parts, people/creatures being injured, bodies/corpses, and similar things. 3. Disturbing content is content that is graphic or unsettling. 4. Disclaimer: Up to the interpretation of the staff member issuing the ban. 7. CHILD PORNOGRAPHY 1. Posting child pornography will result in a PERMANENT BAN. 2. AGAINST FEDERAL LAW. Information can and will be given to the authorities. 3. Drawings depicting minors in sexual situations count as Child Pornography and will be handled as such. 8. UNREADABLE/CONFUSING NICKNAMES 1. Confusing nicknames are nicknames that are meant to cause confusion when called out. 2. Names must contain 3 English character and be readable. For a list of allowed characters, click here. 3. If a staff member asks you to change your name, you must. EXAMPLES OF CONFUSING NICKNAMES: - Names like: the Traitor, the Innocents, an Unidentified Body, and other similar names. - Changing your name to that of another player's name, or to a name that is very similar. 9. TOXIC GAMEPLAY and METAGAMING 1. Toxic Gameplay is playing the game how it's not meant to be played; ruining the fairness and enjoyment. 2. Metagaming is committing any action to intentionally help the other team win the game. 3. PUNISHMENT: The punishments for Metagaming and Toxic game play are up to an Admin's Discretion. We will often weigh the severity of the situation before making a judgement. Usually, repeated offenses will be necessary for us to take action. EXAMPLES OF TOXIC GAMEPLAY: - Killing someone who you know is proven just to take their T weapon. - Planting unided bodies near AFK players so that you can kill them. - Killing someone, who you watched kill a traitor, not id the body of said traitor. - Forcing a player into an area in which they will either be proven to be a traitor or die as an innocent will be considered RDM in all cases. EXAMPLES OF METAGAMING: - Completing traitor win objectives as an innocent. - Giving innocents traitor weapons. - Helping a traitor kill innocents.
--------------------------------------------------------------- COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED GAMEPLAY RULES --------------------------------------------------------------- 1. KILL ON SIGHT (KOS) 1. KOS is when you call a player out as a Traitor. 2. You may kill anyone who is KOS'd, assuming that person is not a detective. 3. Responsibility of the damage done to a KOS'd player is on the player who called the KOS. 4. Repeating a KOS may deem you as the original source. This may include asking questions about a KOS. 5. You may not attack a Detective for calling a KOS; they must call the KOS and then be actively shooting at you first. NOTE: 1. VALID KOS: Explicitly expresses that a player is a traitor or they should be killed in a single text or voice transmission. Partial names can be used as a valid KOS (Mango vs MangoTango). KOS/KO5/KOZ are valid KOSes. 2. SELF-KOS: A KOS against yourself is valid and you can be killed for it. Can be punished under admin discretion if excessive. 3. SELF-IMPLICATION: Saying something about yourself that implies you're a traitor. Considered a valid KOS if done in present or past tense. Can be punished under admin discretion if excessive. 4. LAST WORDS: Can be acted on if called as a valid KOS. 2. CROSSFIRE 1. Crossfire is a situation where a player accidentally causes damage to another player while trying to damage someone with a valid reason. 2. Not considered RDM. 3. Does NOT apply to props. 4. Radio commands ("Someone is a Traitor!") can be considered crossfire if you meant it to target someone else. 3. GRACE PERIOD 1. The 5 second grace period is a 5 second period after you have killed and ID'd a traitor's body in which you can still be killed for the traitorous act of killing someone. 2. Grace period starts the second the body is ID'd. 3. After the grace period it is RDM to kill someone for the act of killing a traitor. 4. WARNING TEAMMATES 1. You must warn if you're about to use an item, usually explosive or traps, that may cause damage to your teammates. (Includes Gauss Rifle, Frag grenades, Incendiary grenades, etc.) 2. Must be timely and precise to be sufficient; must allow time for your teammates to clear the area. 3. Not needed for C4 4. You do not need to warn for placing Deathstations or Tripwires unless you plant them in a place where they have a high likelihood of being activated right away. 5. If you intend to let innocents into the T room you must warn. 6. Innocents and Detectives must have intent to kill in order for a warning to be valid. *A useful rule of thumb for timing is giving at least five seconds before warning and initiating action, though this may not always be enough. 5. AFK PLAYERS 1. Not immune to traitorous acts. 2. AFK players may be killed in overtime. 3. You cannot kill AFK Detectives if you are not a traitor. 6. GUILT BY ASSOCIATION (GBA) 1. A player is GBA if they are found to be witnessing or able to witness another player commit a traitorous act and not attempting to take action against said players by calling them out or attacking them, as long as the situation gives them a reasonable opportunity to react. 2. The victim of a traitorous act cannot be considered GBA. 3. Not killing a KOS'ed player is NOT GBA. 4. You cannot kill players for GBA if you committed the traitorous act. 7. COMMON SENSE 1. When a certain situation allows you to, with 100% certainty, prove that a player is a traitor, or that they have committed a traitorous act, you may kill that player. EXAMPLES OF COMMON SENSE: - Two people go into a room with only one exit. You know the room is empty beforehand. One of them dies. You check the body to make sure it wasn't a suicide. You may kill the other person. - Using a radar to determine whether or not you are the last detective alive. - Kosing a disguised player based off of their skin when they are the last donator alive. 8. CAMPING AND DELAYING 1. Camping is when you stay in a closed off space waiting for someone to come attack you. 2. Camping is allowed so long as you are not delaying. 3. Delaying is when you postpone an effort to fulfill an objective. 4. Delaying the round is not allowed. 9. FORGIVENESS 1. Moderators have the ability to forgive accidental RDM. 2. Goomba stomps can be forgiven. 3. The victim must forgive the RDM. 4. RDM chains and Mass RDM cannot be forgiven. 5. Staff reserve the right to deny forgiveness for any reason. 10. UNREPORTED DAMAGE 1. Staff will investigate if requested to do so by the damaged player. 2. RDM chains and Mass RDM must be reported. 3. Abusing this rule may result in staff investigation and punishment.

DAMAGING PLAYERS or SHOOTING TOWARDS THEM (D) 1. Tasers: If a Detective tazes you, you cannot kill them when you get up unless they repeatedly taze you or shoot (at) you. 2. You may kill a detective if they are shooting at you with an intention to kill. 2. NOT IDENTIFYING BODIES 1. Failing to identify a body is a traitorous act. 2. Player must be able to see the body. 3. For a jump block to be traitorous the jumper must be mid-jump when the blocker moves in to block the only possible landing. 12. PLACING PROPS IN AREAS WHERE PLAYERS MAY BE DAMAGED BY THEM 1. Word Vs Word is when a clear verdict, beyond reasonable doubt, cannot be decided upon based off of any pertinent information surrounding a report. 2. Word Vs Word will almost always result in punishment being deferred until further evidence is provided, or deferred permanently if such evidence does not exist. 5. RDM REPORTS 1. Be clear when responding to or creating a RDM report. 2. Provide any information that may be necessary to the validity of your report (i.e. traitorous acts). All rules and regulations subject to change under an Admin's Discretion. Thank you to all past, present, and future staff for your contributions to this guide.
Should be clarified to say something like "the full round slays set to you" since you can have more than one slay for an RDM This kinda makes it seem like claimed areas are a thing at all. Idk how you could rephrase that but you big brain people should at least try. Should just add the words "for harassment" to the end of that sentence Should add the word "intentionally" to the start since with the old extended rules newer people used to think just accidentally making a false report that you thought was valid was a crime This doesn't really need to be in the extended rules. Just make sure staff know this, regulars don't need to know. Should expand on this with something like "does NOT apply to props, to be classed as crossfire the shot must have been intended to hit a player" since it's quite confusing Haven't played TTT in a while so idk but you should probably clarify that 5 seconds ain't always enough Shouldn't this also apply to tripwires and any other t-wep visible through walls? These are just definitions. Are they against the rules or not? Idk if its on my side but this is underlined in white rather than yellow and it's very annoying Should probably start with "Word vs word is" to sound better Should add "and are sometimes punishable"
Split in two parts cause somehow I went over the 10k limit Idk how much they've changed since I didn't fully go through Mango's extended rules but seem mostly the same. Here's something I got reading quickly through them ADD: KOS ADD BACK OLD CLARIFICATION: For example: Movement and aim adjustment macros aren't allowed, menu navigation and chat macros are (if they don't fall under spam) MODIFY: SELF-KOS: If called for no valid reason and you take damage for it, can be considered RDM. No admin discretion part. MODIFY: SELF-IMPLICATION: Saying something about yourself that implies you're a traitor or have committed a traitorous act. Not considered a KOS per se, but you can be killed. You are not responsible for damage and it won't be considered RDM. Admin discretion part is fine here I guess. MINOR: "or that they have committed a traitorous act" CLARIFY: What's allowed and what's not. Innos can camp unless it prevents traitors from advancing the round, you can't intentionally delay t or inno etc. REMOVE: Goomba stomp addition unnecessary with the above point since they would fall under accidental RDM. Obviously won't be forgiving intentional goomba stomps. 1. ADD: "or damaged you" to the first one or 2. ADD: (D) to damage caused by any means and clarify that it has to be you getting damaged
CLARIFY: For example: traitor traps that can be activated and incendiary fire etc. CLARIFY: Just moving a health station far away (ex. pushing down from the top of dolls) does not render it useless and is not something you can shoot for. Only pushing it to an unreachable area (ex. off the map). CLARIFY: Somehow explain that the traitor is at fault and it is not RDM if a tester can be rigged. EDIT: CLARIFY: Write something to clarify how testers with multiple people are handled (motel/minecraftcity). Can you kill everyone? If so, say it's toxic to kill the innocent after you've found the traitor etc. REMOVE?: I don't really know if a list of all traitor weapons is useful especially since it gets out of date fast (already doesn't include barrel launcher etc.). Maybe just add the detective specific ones here or another place. ADD: Special props that a traitor can activate (ex. pool turtles) are also considered explosive props. CLARIFY HARD: ????????? what does this mean exactly REMOVE?: Probably not a necessary clarification, but it might help people understand common sense kills CLARIFY: Pools / door stuck etc. CLARIFY OTHERS/REMOVE?: Odd that only this one is clarified to include all forms of moving the props when it applies to almost if not all of the map specific props on the list. REMOVE: Moderators don't need discretion from an admin for forgiveness anymore ADD: Preferred action is not handing out any punishment over handing out possible false punishment REMOVE?: Why is this clarification necessary? Joke responses can clearly be investigated by staff when a player wants to meme and messages @staff right after the response. I get if you don't want to encourage the behaviour I guess. Major thing missing is disguiser/radio stuff for common sense. Should be explained somewhere that when considering 100% certainty for a common sense situation, you do not have to consider the possibility of the sound coming from a radio or a radar blip missing because of a disguiser, since those situations fall under a traitor tricking innocents.
"- Targeted racial or group based slurs." So are we actually going to start kicking/banning assholes screaming "nigger faggot" every time they get upset now or?
Can you explain your reasoning for this? Doesn't make much sense to me why a detective can shoot at someone and that person not be able to shoot back, that's self defense. I understand you may be trying to say 'Cannot kill detectives for traitor baiting', but how do you distinguish traitor baiting from shooting and missing? If someone with shit aim tries to kill me, why shouldn't I be able to defend myself?
Wording is iffy. If the detective doesn't hit you but t-baits you can kill IF they KOS you. Otherwise if they hit you it still follows self-defense rules and KOS is not needed TLDR - kos only needed if you don't get hit at least that's what I'm gettin from it
Went through main rules and have some recommendations. 2. SPAM, HARASSMENT, and FALSE REPORTING I would change 1. to say something like "Spam is any message sent by any means more than 3 times." KOS PACI KOS PACI KOS PACI KOS PACI KOS PACI KOS PACI KOS PACI Is relevant and appropriate but still pretty spammy. I also think including a clear limit on how many repeat messages are allowed is good. 5. BAN EVASION, and ALTERNATE ACCOUNT USAGE I'd change 2. to say something like "Admins+ may ban for this, moderators may not without admin discretion." just because I imagine admin discretion will be used a lot here. 6. PORN, GORE, and DISTURBING CONTENT I would change 1. to say "Porn is any image/video depicting sexual activity, nudity, sex toys/objects, or sexual substances." because otherwise someone could post nude pictures that are unarousing and be safe. (for example I'm sure everyone would agree a closeup of my taint would be unarousing.) 8. UNREADABLE/CONFUSING NICKNAMES I would change 2. to say Names must contain 3 printable ASCII characters and be readable. Also include a link to said character list, eg this one This would allow for names like bu- that are perfectly unique and readable. 9. TOXIC GAMEPLAY and METAGAMING I would change 2. to say "Metagaming is any action intended to help the enemy team win the game.". Intentions are important, you can do a lot of dumb shit as an inno or detective that technically helps the traitors. e.g. destroying your own health station as a detective. No more health station means innos can't heal but what if you do it to stop the traitors from using it too?
1. Done. 2. Claiming is technically a thing, you just can't kill for it. That is what the rules are saying. This, in my opinion, is the best way to acknowledge that you are able to technically claim a room, but that you may not act on someone entering said room. If you have a better idea, let me know asap 3. Done. 4. Done. 5. I believe that it may be helpful to include it just so that average players can file reports if they see moderators banning for this punishment, though I understand what you mean and i'll consider removing it. 6. I am not quite sure what you mean by "does NOT apply to props, to be classed as crossfire the shot must have been intended to hit a player". I believe the reason props cannot be crossfired is because they have a high likelihood of missing. I could be wrong though. 7. Done 8. If you read the next line you would realize that I actually did clarify that tripwires and deathstations dont require warnings. 9. I made that more clear. 10. Fixed. 11. Done. 12. I just removed that part all together. Seemed kind of unneeded. Moved. 1. I decided it was better to add that under the KOS section, as it would be confusing to read "KOSES" under the section you want it under. If I read that I would ask "what can I kill for, the act of calling a kos, or the act of being kosed?". It is much better to include it later and go more into detail. 2. I believe our defintion of what is and isn't allowed is broad enough to allow for wiggle room. Closing that wiggle room by declaring one thing as ok and another as not ok just creates a situation where we constantly have to compare different macros, instead of just judging each individual case on whether or not they were creating a significant advantage. I guess what I am trying to say is that keeping this vague is kind of intentional. I'll think about possibly being more specific though. 3. Modifying the KOS rules is something I will consider. The first part was changed with Mango's new rules, and tbh I never even really considered it being changed. I want to talk with the staff team about changing this going forward. The second part, the part with self implication, is fine the way it is I believe. 4. Done. 5. Already clarified. 6. The reason they are separate is that you can forgive intentional Goomba stomps under our current rules. I'd have to discuss that with the team to see how they felt about it before making such a change. 7. The detective part has been clarified. 8. Fixed. 9. I see no reason that needs to be clarified. The healthstation being pushed far away does not render it useless, and any person who attempted to argue that would have their argument instantly torn apart. 10. Done. 11. Not really necessary. Most players understand that the "explosive turtles" are explosive props. 12. That has been clarified. 13. Not sure why we would remove the entering or exit part? 14. The map rules were hardly touched, but I can clarify them real quick. 15. They still require discretion for certain things regarding forgiveness. 16. Done. 17. Fixed. 18. Not sure what you mean. You do need to consider radios when dealing with common sense, as you can't be certain if a traitor is tricking you or if the event you mentioned occurred. That being said, I see where you are coming from and i'll consider changing this further.
