This thread is highly unnecessary. That spot on assault is a known spot and a simple skill jump to get to it. The only walls you can see through are the one wall and you can't shoot through it, and it has a weird skybox so throwing grenades is also weird. Rice isn't abusing anything.
so why is i forbidden o propsurf on he b5 lighhouse? i's a well known spo and you yould reach i by jumping on like 2 people
The reason why the lighthouse on b5 is considered unreachable is because you can’t get up there without the use of props/other players/other devices. Whereas on assault anyone can get to that spot by just by doing a little parkour.
I completely agree with this, I have no idea why this was never fixed in some way and I've seen rice and chickens abuse of it, pretty much on the extreme end of abuse making a fight with him there pretty 1 sided
Well I had a search through my recording and found what I remember seeing, which is rice abusing it a lot

This is a map feature at the moment, which is currently fair game to “abuse”. If you want this feature patched, I suggest supporting the map Miggo linked. We won’t be slaying for this.
"map feature" okay so il just uninstall css and look through all the walls and call the missing textures a map feature, no, the reason its like that is because you aren't even meant to be able to go up there , it was later patched out we have always just had the non patched version , its not even exactly easy to get up there, atleast not for a newbie, so saying "anyone" can use it is very naïve of you.. "we wont be slaying for this" says the DR admin on a TTT thread
I’m replying to this only because I don’t want to risk someone actually taking you seriously here. Using server side missing textures to your advantage that every single player is missing is a much different case than using textures only missing on your machine to your advantage , which is and always has been a potentially bannable offense. Everyone has the potential capacity to get up there, they can always learn or adapt. And yeah, we won’t be slaying for this.
Guys, you know that we are discussing whether this should be against the rules, right? You can't cite the rules as they are as an argument for why they should be the way they are. Most of the posts saying "well prop surfing is bad because by our definitions it's bad!!" are completely pointless and using circular logic. If you're saying he's not abusing anything then you're saying that this is how that wall is meant to be used. And why does that automatically make it bad to go there? What's the big difference difference between prop surfing to an unintended place as opposed to making weird jumps to an unintended place? Both are equally difficult and anyone on the map can theoretically do it. I'd get it if someone uses the only prop on the map to get somewhere unreachable, making it impossible to others, but usually, there is no real difference between the two. Okay, let me use equally biased phrasing to say the exact opposite: "The reason why jumping to that roof on assault should be considered abuse is because you can't get up there without the use of unintended bugs and you get an unfair advantage by using a semi-translucent wall. Whereas on other maps, you can just get to higher spots by doing a little prop surfing" What's the difference? Why is one of them worse? One could argue that could be what differentiates between slayable and non-slayable offenses. However, that would mean that propsurfing to unreachable areas would also be allowed 99% of the time.
If you seriously believe that those two situations are similar then I’m not going to even refute it. There would be no point because you clearly lack reason or common sense to say something like that. Yes, the DR admin who is a past lead and has 10 times more experience with anything related to the community than you do. For this actual discussion, I think that getting up on the roof on assault is a factor that adds some spice to the map. However, I am not fond of people being able to watch through that small wall and have great angles on people to stand up and fire. I knew about the big wall, which isn’t as much of a big deal in my opinion, but the small wall is more concerning. All that needs to be done is patch in the transparent walls and it is perfectly fine.
Pertaining to the building on Assault, the wall in itself is most definitely abusable. In this specific instance, if it's easy to patch out it would be foolish not to. I do agree with scuffed that having the ability to access the building in itself adds some necessary spice to the map. As it stands right now policing the such would be extremely taxing and difficult. Using common sense (Eg. Only possible player with ranked skin) it is possible to kos a player. Using similar instances of one way walls etc, would it be alright to call a kos on someone half way across the map? I'm fairly confident most people would consider the such exploiting as it provides what feels like both a unfun and unfair advantage to the player . I don't think its improper to maintain a similar standard for these instances if the one way is unintended.
I'd also recommend having a screenshot of someone's adminstats notes as your spray and just putting it in some hidden location where someone most likely won't, but could, find it. It adds a lot to the thrill of the game. /s Obviously I would not want that as it is a breach of our rules!
your first argument was well thought out and proposed a good opinion, but this just takes away from that. Why?
I was obviously joking. And...it takes away from it?? Are you serious? Can people not read posts and think about whether they're valid or not anymore? They somehow get influenced by later posts and think "hm this post is dumb so i retroactively dismiss whatever else he said"? I dunno, I'm pretty sure people are smarter than that. Anyway, I've edited my comment to prevent further misunderstandings. Dazza was pointing out that it's weird that a guy says "we won't be slaying" (you know, in 1st person) even though he is a Deathrun admin and can't slay for something that is done on cs_assault in a different game mode. It just sounds funny. Doesn't really warrant your "he's much better than you" comment.
