Hello everybody! I got a real quick suggestion for checking logs! I feel as though /most/ people should be able to check the logs, not just mods (And above), so that they may be able to see what A. the other person has done, or B. what they have done. It would cause a lot less stress for the mods (And above) who are constantly doing the reports that happen /normally/ every round (One or two at least), but when there are a load of reports (Some false), they can FIRST see what happened, and if they are correct in their theory, they may report them with evidence proofing their facts. This would help the banter and arguments that come out of it and slays/bans would come much easier and the mods (And above) would have an easier time I'm not sure if there would be too many downsides to it, but, please comment on this if there are, or give constructive critizism about this or something like this. Thank you all for your time! ~ajisg00d (That's also how you pronounce my name: AJ-IS-GOOD)
Huge -1, Non staff don't understand that dealing with reports is so much more than checking the logs. If users were allowed to see the logs they would just whine to staff that their report hasn't be done, because for their perspective its just RDM but from our perspective it included the reports, shot logs and damage logs.
And maybe even re-looking at the report if they have responded, to see what you/ the other person might improve upon themselves and see what happened on the other side of the story.
Main issue that I could see occuring with anyone and everyone having access to the logs, is ghosting. if any player could open up the logs when they are dead they could just get the list of T's and message it to a friend. So I would say this would be a bad Idea and give it -1.
I feel like this isn't really a necessity to players. There are 1) damage logs and 2) event recaps available at the end of rounds. That's really all that is necessary for the common player.
I know that I would love to be able to look at the logs, but at the same time I would hate EVERYONE being able to look at them. So many arguments.
Pre round/post round viewing doesn't work either. That gives them 30 at most to look at it xD. Just use ttt_print_damagelog in console between rounds and you'll get a basic list of the damage. Not as detailed as the damagelog, but it gives you what you need to know if you want to better inform a staff member.
Thank you all for your great contributions to this post! And your opinions are great for helping me see the cons and pros of this suggestion.
