Two things I would like to discuss about this system! - 1. Should the server add a forgive button? (this can be for accidental reports or actual accidents) 2. Should mods/staff be able to report you for killing your friends/other people? (this has happened a lot and friends cant have any say basically; I know there is a rule saying rdm is rdm no matter what but many people I know dislike having mod slay them for doing stuff to other people who are either ok with it or want to report themself and not feel like their power is being diminshed. - If you cant tell I want a forgive button and only the person who died be able to report not mods. - Also vote on second poll here ->> https://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/extra-poll.51024/
No to forgive report, it just allows rdm chains to start without consequence, as well as unneeded drama and karma loss. See the friends I can kinda understand, (saying same thing I said in a different thread) once you click close on the motd each time you load into the server, you are basically agreeing and acknowledging that you have read and accept the rules given. So you got to accept your consequences of you killing people without reason, if we didn't allow it, and by your wording you could go rdm all the new people that don't know that they can report yet. This would kill the server, because as much as we need regular returns we need those new players too. So I think both of these are just awful ideas, nothing against you, just your ideas
- 1. When you die it literally shows who killed you and asks if you want to report them (also people can just ask others) 2. Stop acting like you are a staff of the server. You dont own the server and cant act like you can do anything about rules. 3. It would never kill the server that makes no sense.
@Blue❀ you can have fun with your friends all you want, that's no problem. But what is a problem, and has been explained many times already to you here is that when "having fun" and being "humerous" ruins the game for other people, it's not okay anymore. I wouldn't have reported you if you and I had both in on a game of friendly crowbar push. But I wasn't, I was trying to play TTT, and your bs ruined that. Furthermore, I still wouldn't have reported you if you had simply apologized, but instead you went on to grandstand about how you pushing me to my death was my fault. Get with the program, man.
This topic has already been discussed. https://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/easy-way-to-make-mods-life-easier.50655/ They said no.
I understand he was staff but he is acting like he knows everything about what would happen to the server and trying to be more authoritive to put down others. Its obviously an attempt to powergrab since he lost his old power to flex on people.
Let's break this up to your responses. Ok I'm a new player, someone rdms me. They say it was a valid kill because of some more complicated rule than "he shot me". I think ok he didn't rdm me. No slay, rdmer goes off Scot free. Or think you're afk, you get rdmed the whole map at the beginning of the round but you don't notice. Last round you come back and since you don't know what happened you give the benefit of the doubt (something I do) and don't report. Mod comes on and bans the mass rdmed for mass rdm x5 and everyone (except the stupid rdmer and their friends) is happy. Also let's say a mass rdmer goes rdms 5 people died and leaves before anyone can report. Or rdmer rdms you on last round of last map in last second, and map changes as you are writing your essay of a report to get this guy roasted to the pits of hell. Who comes to the rescue? The moderator! Wow such surprise much common sense Actually it makes complete sense. If you cannot constantly bring in new players, hopefully and necessarily more than players leave/become inactive, your server slowly dwindles into nothingness. Look I don't know you man, but from what I see and what I have experienced, you're a normal guy wanting to have friends, that doesnt recognize the fact that your actions affect others, and without people to monitor and moderate yours and every other person's actions, the server goes to hell. I don't say I know everything perfectly, but I have a good enough knowledge that I know what I'm talking about. I've been in this community for 4 years now, so please sit down and shut up.
This is the 5000th suggestion for this, and not even the first this month. The answer should still be no.
*added your additions to the quote. Ok again this is all for the new player and honestly the last 2 for the regular randoms that don't have a forum acct. Not a senator who knows the rules and how to deal with rdmers. No, most people don't leave due to 1 rdm but 1 becomes 2 and 2 becomes 3 and 3 becomes many. That is why. let me quote your earlier post. Either say your arguement is 1 thing or say it is the other. If my knowledge is flawed, yours is nonexistent Also Your argument seems to be heavily flawed
1) This has been suggested time and time again over the years. And has been turned down time and time again. If you would like the report forgiven, reach out to the staff member and say so. Doesn't mean it will be accepted, but most staff aren't powerhungry sluts who get off on slaying. 2) This has been changed by the recent rule overhaul (see TTT Extended Rules).
As siddo just pointed out, we only have to check for 'unreported' damage if requested to do so or it's a Mass RDM / common occurrence and the like. Iow you only get reported if your behaviour is being problematic.
Hello, As already pointed out by current and prior staff, this is a suggestion that has come up a few times; I would suggest searching before posting a new one. Furthermore, the recent addition of unreported damage and forgiveness was added to the extended rules with specific criteria on what can be forgiven. That being said, I'm going to deny this suggestion. -MT
